"One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides."
~W.E. Johns, The Passing Show
Exactly what am I anticipating you ask?
A yummy tomato sandwich!!
Plain white bread, some mayo, a generous sprinkling of salt, a bit of pepper....and the all important luscious red tomato! I can't wait!
What's you favorite way to eat a tomato?
What an absolutely beautiful photograph. Did you take it. Wow!
ReplyDeleteAnticipation is a wonderful thing. : )

Mmm, sounds delicious. I love tomato sandwhiches, but my favorite thing to eat with tomatoes is a tomato and mozzarella salad... with balsamic vinegarette. Hope you get lots of tomatoes from your plant this year!
ReplyDeletePeeled and sliced, big thick slices, with salt and pepper and a bit of colby cheese. YUM
ReplyDeleteLove that quote!
Wowee! You are way ahead of me...I still just have blossoms. I have to remove the seeds from the tomatoes now but it's worth it...BLT's are a favorite and just a sliced tomato with a little salt & pepper...warm from the garden. I bought A (that's 1) stem tomato on my way home from work yesterday...$1.22!! Crazy!

I like mine right off the vine with a little salt sprinkled on. Will eat it like an apple. I LOVE summertime tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteUmm.. I thought you were anticipating the arrival of grandchild #4....
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous (Joe)....I am greatly anticipating grandchild #4! Knowing his name would increase the anticipation even more!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll like tomatoes too!
Sliced, on a plate, with slices of mozarella, sprinkled with a little salt and pepper and drizzled with some good olive oil and a bit of shredded basil. My favourite summer lunch.
ReplyDeleteJohns favorite too! Only with Miracle Whip and lots of pepper. :)
ReplyDeleteoh yum. It's been so long since I've had a tomato sandwich with a fresh picked tomato. You are much closer to one than I am. Our tomato plants aren't quite that big yet
ReplyDeleteHmmm...you are all making my mouth water!
