One Swap Finished

Well almost.  I still need to add some kind of "hanger" to the back.
What do you use to hang your fabric collage?

UPDATE: I just read the swap "rules" again and I'm not suppose to add a hanger,
so I guess it's officially done!
Thanks for the hanging tips though ~ I'll be trying them out on the next one!

I'm happy with the results. But I think I will try another and use a solid background, although I do love this floral fabric ~ having a neutral background might be nice too.   I think my swap partner Ginger will like it ~ she loves the "shabby chic" look.

Diane and Robin, you were right! I can't wait to make another one.

If you'd like to see more of the fabric collages that have been created please visit A Swap For All Seasons.  We have 100 swappers, including our "hostess with the mostess" Linda!

  1. I really like the patterned background, it adds even more interest to the beautiful collage. I am sure your swap partner will be so delighted with it.

  2. Your mix of soft colors with lace details is very romantic...perfect for this time of year. For a hanger, I often like to simply sew on some twine.

  3. This one is so sweet! I love the soft colors and the textures you used! I think I am going to have to try and make one of these pretties for a Mother's day gift!
    Blessings for a beautiful day~

  4. Marie, this is darling and it looks like it would be therapeutic placing and stitching the pieces in place!

To hang it...I like the twine idea from Becky. Could you also take a dowel rod and wire it from the top?? Never made one myself but hopefully Dorthe will pop in with some advice :)

  6. It's so beautiful Marie! I know your swap partner will be thrilled with it. I just love all the little details you added....especially that rusty looking pin and tag. I usually hang my fabric collages by creating a fabric sleeve wide enough to slide a piece of wooden ruler (cut to size)into. Then I screw in little eye hooks at each end and attach picture wire for hanging. Email if you need more specifics, I will be glad to try and explain it better :)

    Hugs,
    Robin

  10. And...it turned out beautiful. But I knew it would! I like the little touches of the "friend" cameo and the safety pin. I never think to do that!
And the "cousins" pic...all that red hair and rosy cheeks! You must just want to hug them constantly!!
    Hugs,
    Diane

  12. Marie...YOur collage is lovely. I would love it. I can tell lots of love went into the design and creating of it. You are so talented. The vintage look adds so much to the finished piece. Love the stamping on it, too.
