A Visitor Is Coming

My mom is coming to visit ~ she arrives Saturday afternoon! I can't remember the last time we were together for Mother's Day! I'm not sure what we'll be doing to celebrate it yet ~ but we'll be having fun!
When I was in Michigan a couple weeks ago my Mom gave me a new "fat bird" ~ I love "fat birds"! She gave me the one sitting in the basket. It was a chicken but I didn't pack it carefully enough for the flight home. The thing-a-ma-jig on the chicken's head broke off. I like it even more this way!
I bought myself the "fat-bird" plant poke at Walmart.

My new Country Living arrived in yesterday's mail.
I haven't had much time to look through it yet ~ but I did see a couple things that interested me.

I have one of these bead & pin baskets ~ my mother-in-law made it.

Country Living has a feature called "steal this idea!" There are several through out the magazine.
This one says "Running out of space for all your art? How about hanging a piece on the back of a door?"
Great idea ~ in fact, I already do it! I think someone must have stolen the idea from me!! None of my doors are as great as this one though!

Have a happy Friday!

Marie, I have one of my daughter's art quilts hanging in a window on the inside of the blinds - a window we never use.

I bought a magazine the other day that shows artwork propped on window sills too!

Have a Happy Mother's Day!
