Someone Thinks You're Wonderful

I have a little devotional book called "Smiles". It's full of funny and thought provoking stories, and beautiful quotes and Bible verses. I read the following last night...it was a lovely reminder of my worth in God's eyes. I hope it reminds you of that too!

Irving Berlin has been one of America's most-loved composers with more than one thousand songs in his catalog. In addition to the familiar favorites, "God Bless America," "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better," and "Easter Parade'" he wrote, "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas," the world's all-time best-selling musical score. In an interview when he was in his 90's, Berlin was asked, "Is there any question that you've never been asked, but that you would like to be asked? "Well, yes, there is one," he replied. "What do you think of the many songs you've written that didn't become hits?' My reply would be that I still think they're wonderful."

God, too, has an unshakable delight in the things - and people - He has made. Whether or not they're a "hit" in the eyes of others, he thinks each of His children is wonderful!

God delights in you just as you are!

I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God's thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all thinking. George MacDonald
