Dill

I love dill.   Dill butter.  Dill pickles.  Dill & cucumber salad.  Dill with eggs or tuna.  Dill with salmon is my favorite!
This little guy likes Dill too!  He was enjoying it in my garden. I don't know where his nest is but I hope it's not in my yard. I think it's a Paper Wasp.  He's not invited to dinner.

I was looking through some cookbooks and found some new recipes using dills.
I think these sound yummy!

******

1 pound salmon fillets or steaks
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
2 tablespoons butter

1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2.Rinse salmon, and arrange in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle salt, pepper, onion powder, and dill over the fish. Place pieces of butter evenly over the fish.
3.Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.

******

Thinly slice cucumbers and red onions, put in a bowl and add a touch of olive oil, some red wine vinegar, salt & pepper, and lots and lots of dill, let marinate for a few hours and enjoy.

I love it too, Marie. We tried to grow it once and something, either snails or slugs liked it and ate it down to the ground!

the recipe sounds yummy. They make a dill dip at the store I work at and it's delicious. That wasp looks huge

My girls love dill and I am learning to enjoy it too. I have a potato soup recipe that includes dill and it does add a very nice flavor.

I have never grown it. I will check to see if it is a perennial.
