As I wandered through the house looking at all that I wanted to remove, I noticed a similarity in each room. Magazines. Everywhere. Stacks of them. Boxes of them.
I discovered exactly where I would be starting to "Simplify"!
I gathered all the magazines from the family room, the bathroom, two bedrooms, and my craft room.
Then I stacked them on, or piled them under a card table that I set up in my bedroom. I've always liked to have a little reading material close by!! I figure if I flip through 25 of them each evening I'll have this job done in no time. The hardest thing for me is throwing them away (by this I mean "recycle" them). I thought about having a "Giveaway" with the ones I don't want but honestly, the shipping costs would quickly get out of hand. Maybe I'll see what's left at the end and offer them to my blog friends for just the cost of shipping. Would anyone be interested in that?
Love the covers on the Martha Stewart magazines ~ and I totally forgot about the stack of Christmas craft magazines. I can't wait to look through those again. I guess this simplifying may not be as hard as I thought. At least not this week!

Oh my I know what you mean...I have baskets and baskets and stacks of magazines and books...I hate to get rid of mine....I look through mine all the time and there seems to be always something I missed in them....
Have a Blessed day...

Oh gosh, we even have the same magazine obsessions! I got rid of a lot last year and now I'm very selective about the ones I subscribe to BUT the ones I find at the grocery store still mangae to jump in my cart once in a while. I do tend to keep all of the December issues...great decorating and gift ideas in those!
Yep I have stacks of them too. LOL. I can't get rid of any either and of course I keep buying more. My newest obsession is quilting magazines. LOL Some of my friends tear out the pages they want put them in plastic sleeves in a binder for later use.
Oh Marie, that is a job. I remember before our last move going through all my magazines (mostly parenting and gardening). It was a big job but nice to unload and feel that I'd kept all the ones I'd need down the road. I'd say it can't hurt to make a quick list of the ones you are wiling to part with, you may get some takers for the price of postage.
Good Luck!

Wow I don't feel so bad about all the magazines I have now...lol I occasionally go through mine and if there's something I find that I really want to keep then I rip that out and put it in a notebook I have of things I intend to get to...lol I guess I'm just hopeless
Wow... I hadn't noticed that. Have fun flipping through them all. If you have any craft ones you don't want, I will gladly take them off your hands. :-)
Wow! Have fun flipping through them. Have a great day. Angela
Hi Marie,
Thanks for dropping by in Dec. while I was MIA. I appreciated your kind message. : )
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. I LOVED the Christmas Eve photo 'on the way to Church'. And congratulations on the new little one on the way, in your family. : )
xo,
Mary Lou
Wow. I love how you're breaking it up into smaller more manageable little goals. :)
I have a few 3-ring binders that I use for magazine pages that I want to save. One for recipes, one for workouts, and another for random (usually house) stuff. That way I use the parts I want as a resource and ditch the rest.
I hope that your project comes together quickly for you. Have fun with it. :)
