Guest Room

I don't think this room is ever going to be finished.  But it's 95% there.
So how about a little tour. Come on in!

I still want to add "grandbaby photos" on the wall to the left of this window.

This is the little chifferobe that has yet to be painted. I've bought the paint...now if only the weather and time would cooperate with me.
The paint color matches the darker "daisies" in the fabric to the right.

Love my little "HOME" block!

Remember this bird? This room is the perfect home for him.

My daughter-in-law, Jacqi, made the yellow crocheted daisy chain for me. Love it!

This is the spot the grandbabies head to....they love Gramma's books!

I was about 2 inches short of pom pom trim for this lamp shade....cute blue flower to the rescue!

I recovered an old tin sign with paper, added pom pom trim (made this before the lampshade), and a large sticker that says family, to create the sign on top. Red gingham covers a straw wreath, and crocheted flowers brighten it up. The giraffe print is actually a greeting card ~ $1.50 at Michael's.

I bought this chipboard FAMILY at Hobby Lobby, and covered it with gift wrap from the dollar section at Target. When I hung itup I realized I already used the word "family" on the tin sign. Family means a lot to me, but I think I may change the sticker on the sign.

I found this spool pattern quilt at an antique store a few years ago....it was a bargain at $15.00!

I love my light fixture...in fact I bought a second one to use in another bedroom. The reflections on the ceiling and walls just make me happy.

The headboard is an old gate and the gate latch poked out a bit....this hanky and cute teddy stand guard and keep it safe.

I'm really pleased with the way the room has turned out...it makes me smile.

The room is looking great! I love all the little details and fixes. (like not having enough pom pom trim and using the flower to cover it up. Gonna have to remember that little trick)

Regarding having "Family" twice. I don't think it's a big deal, but if you want to put something different on the one sign you could always do "cherish", cause it's almost the same length and when you read it on the wall, it would read "cherish family". Just my two cents.

Hello Marie,
Your guest bedroom, looks so inviting and lovely. The quilt is my favorite thing in there, maybe because we almost never see such old ones here in Denmark.
Hugs to you dear.
