Hello June...

A book, a shady nook, and
twinkle lights in the garden sounds lovely!

"Far up in the deep blue sky,
Great white clouds are floating by;
All the world is dressed in green;
Many happy birds are seen,
Roses bright and sunshine clear
Show that lovely June is here."

It's Party Time!

Today is Penelope's 1st Birthday!
Here's some pictures of her enjoying some cake at her party last Sunday.

Balloons, cake and cupcakes & presents! Her Grandpa and I gave her that cute little pink chair. She looks like such a princess on it ~ click any photo for a better look.

We also gave her this hippo swimming pool ($3.24 on clearance at Target last year!) and 100 plastic balls to fill it with. Penelope's cousins, Elijah & Charlotte, enjoyed playing in it with her.

...and without her!

These little ones take my breath away ~ they make me smile all the time! I love them SO MUCH!!

I’m wishing you another year
Of laughter, joy and fun,
Surprises, love and happiness,
And when your birthday’s done,
I hope you feel deep in your heart,

As your birthdays come and go,
How very much you mean to me,
More than you can know.

It's All About the Eyes

My baby's eyes!
What light they hold;
What wonderful hints of wealth untold;
Of lands where the flowers never die,
Of tropic lands where the sunbeams lie,
On diamond fields and hills of gold.

My baby's eyes!
There are hints in these
Of wonder-land's glory, of sunny seas;
Of ice-capped mountains and fields of snow;
Of twilight shadows and moonlight glow,
and the hidden springs of mysteries.

There are hope and faith and glad surprise,
And depths where latent passion lies;
Sky-touching heights of peace and light,
And rushing rivers of wild affright;
And gleams of heaven in baby's eyes.

Child of my Child...times two

Child of my child
Heart of my heart.
Your smile bridges
The years between us...
I am young again, discovering
The world through your eyes.
You have the time to listen
and I have the time to spend,
Delighted to gaze at familiar,
Loved features made new in you again.
Through you, I see the future.
Through me, you'll see the past.
In the present, we'll love one another
As long as these moments last.
