Kitchen Shelves

I love a little bit of whimsy in my house...and color too!

Here's a peek at a few things decorating my kitchen shelves.  Fake flowers, pencil sharpeners disguised as mushrooms, a button bouquet, and bowls that shall remain empty and cute!

They each make me happy ~ just by looking at them.  So happy, that I don't even mind dusting them!!

 

Flowers & the Thrift Store

 

The flowers are blooming in my yard!  I don't have much of a green thumb, but each Spring and early Summer my plants put on a nice show for me.  This year there are a lot of blooms and the colors are wonderful!  If only they would last.......

 

We're making some major changes in the yard this year...to include a new deck and pergola. I've been gathering some treasures to use on the deck....and here's my newest find!  A new (to me) plant stand that I found at the thrift store last night.

It's the perfect spot for pots of colorful flowers...and when the real ones die, well I'm probably okay with using "fake flowers" outside too!

 

There's a little dent on the right side of the middle shelf....but Bill said he can fix that.

 

Now I just need to decide if it needs a coat of some nice, bright paint!  What do you think?

A Touch of Spring

Did a little Springtime display in my living room last weekend.   Here's a peek at the old dresser between two windows.  Hopefully the top of this dresser will very soon be showing off a coat or two of paint.  Just need to decide what color.  

 

 

Did you notice? I'm embracing the fake flowers again!

 

I found this Lefton chick planter at a thrift store - it's one of my favorite springtime pieces.

I Like Them Fake

I've tried to grow real flowers and plants.

They die.

All of them.

So I "grow" fake flowers.

They live forever.

That makes me happy!
