(Somebody's) Grandbabies

Mandy and her friends went to New York City last Saturday. The drove to Staten Island and took the ferry across to the city. They went to The Morgan Library and Museum and to The Strand Bookstore.

I spent a little time "googling" about those places, Staten Island and other things in NYC. While I was doing that I found a blog called PS22 Chorus. It's a group of fifth graders (somebody's grandbabies!) at a Staten Island public school....and can they ever sing!

Here's a youtube clip so you can take a peek & a listen. By the looks of it these kids are having a lot of fun. Watch some of the expressions. I love it! If you visit there blog, go all the way down to the end where you'll find a list of songs and links to them singing the songs.

By the way, Mandy and her friends had a lot of fun ~ including driving home Saturday night (NYC is only about 3 1/2 hours away ~ so that's a day trip!). The drive was pretty uneventful...except for sitting in traffic for an hour because of an overturned semi and then they arrived in Maryland to its "dusting" of (5 inches) of snow. When these gals take a day trip it's seriously a day trip. 20 hours start to finish!!

Nice song choice!

It just goes to show you that kids will pour their hearts into something if it's something they love. Singing a Journey song rather than some dried up middle-school piece was way more fun! Hope you're feeling better Marie. I'm glad the girls got home safely. You folks had a wicked weekend! Take good care! xoxo
