Green

“Wherever you go,
no matter what the weather,
always bring your own
SUNSHINE.”
― Anthony J. D'Angelo

Spent a little time looking through photo files on my laptop.
I really don't mind Winter...but sometimes you just need to see a little bit of GREEN!

Dream....

This is so totally true.  I think it's time for me to set some goals and dream some dreams....and then go for it.
How about you? Anything you're putting off because you think you'd a bit too old to take the plunge!?

Words To Live By

Piglet:  How do you spell love?

Pooh:  You don't spell love. You feel it.

In My Garden....

Gnomes:
"Very small creatures that live in holes in gardens. They have leathery skin and large bald heads. To de-gnome a garden, grab the gnome by the ankles and swing it around your head, and then throw."  Muggle Guide

But really ~ why would anyone want to de-gnome a garden!!?

A Gift

I gave this little grouping of gifts to a special friend of mine for Christmas.
Simple little gifts ~ all handmade (three by me).  Don't they look pretty together?!
The silvery angel started out as a plain ornament from Target.  She got new wings and a new banner from yours truly.  The bird nest is a pin made of silvery wire and little pearls. My personal favorite is the "spread love" butter knife.  The silver vase used to be a butter knife.  I purchased it a local craft show and added the flowers and little tag to it.  Now I'm collecting hollow handle knifes so I can try and make some of these myself.  They're also very pretty with a pin back on them instead of the handle!

“Spread love everywhere you go: First of all in your own house... let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness.”

Look Out For Tipping Dishes & Fish

My 92 year old father-in-law moved in with us 2 1/2 years ago.
I truly enjoy having him with us.
I also really enjoy my conversations with him.
He wears a hearing aid ~ when he wants to.
I'd like to share a short conversation I had with him Tuesday evening.
Tuesday was one of those days he didn't want to wear his hearing aid!

Dad: Dinner was good.
Me: Thanks ~ how about some ice cream for dessert.
Dad: I'll have some in about an hour.
~:~
One Hour Later
Me: Here's your ice cream.
Dad: Well, thank you!
Me: There's two scoops of Coffee and one scoop of Dulce Delish.
Dad: Don't tip the dish?
Me: No, (speaking slowly) Dulce Delish. It's a new flavor Mandy picked up.
Dad: (shaking his head & looking at his bowl of ice cream) I don't know about Coffee and fish!

Dish or Fish or Dulce Delish ~ he liked it.
The bowl is empty and he's enjoying a little nap.

The older the redwoods, the more majestic. The older wines and cheeses are, the more they are praised and honored for taste. Should it not hold true that the older a man, the more he is to be appreciated by others.

Words to Live By

(another photo I took while visiting The Cottage)

Have courage for the great sorrows of life
and patience for the small ones;
and when you have laboriously
accomplished your daily task,
go to sleep in peace.
God is awake.

Flower (pot) Garden

One of the most
delightful things
about a garden is the
anticipation it provides.
W.E. Johns

I am anticipating great things
for this space in my backyard.
The "table" stood in front of a gift shop I used to own. When my partners and I closed shop (so to speak) I brought it home. It's been in my yard for seven years and the vision I have of it has never been quite fulfilled. I see it full of pots of flowers and such and I want something "viney" for the picket fence that's attached to the front. Unfortunately this spot gets little sun once the oak trees get their leaves.
Any suggestions?

Not A Lot To Say Today

I really don't have anything to share today.
I thought I'd let some things around the house do the talking.

Okay ~ I'm laying down now.........
Have a lovely day!

Make Up Your Mind

So......are you going to be happy today?
I am!
The picture is a scan of one of the very cute notecards I bought at Michaels ~ eight in a pack for one dollar!
