Black Friday

I am not in this line or any other line for that matter. I passed on the early morning frenzy that the Friday after Thanksgiving is known for. I'm spending the day finishing up some swap items, cleaning a little bit and reading. I'm also going to do a little bit of shopping....online! So nice.

I must admit that I did get in a little shopping last night. Katie, Mandy, Jacqi and I took a trip to the local Michaels. When we discovered they were open from 5pm to 9pm, we considered it a challenge and had to go.

I bought glitter! This lovely 24 pack of Martha Stewart glitter (regularly priced at 29.99) was my bargain at $15.75!
I needed it.....really!!

And speaking of really ~ what I REALLY want to know is ~ did you stay home today? Or were you out there battling the crowds? If you were did you find any great bargains that you really needed!!?

Marie, we stayed home!! I worked on putting pinbacks on my pins and making tags for them. I also worked on a couple of assignments I have this morning. Tonight we'll curl up in front of the fireplace and read!

I think you NEEDED the glitter too! ;-) Good buy!

The last thing we wanted to do is battle the crowds. Hubby is retired so we can go out during the week and do our shopping while everyone else is at work. We do this all the time and it is so peaceful! It makes no sense to stand in line for STUFF we don't need or really want and our kids don't either! I don't get it! Is STUFF really THAT important? Nope!

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! The weekend isn't over yet! Enjoy the remainder of it!

Oh, I was home. I don't like to go shopping at all much less on crazy days like today. Glad you were able to find a special bargain!

Heading to the local high school this evening with daughter and grandchildren to see a production of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Abbey is working stage crew.

Greetings on this Friday night. It's a balmy night and we've just returned from a long walk in the dark with the dogs. Came in to blog while hubby is glued to the Batman movie and the dogs promptly went to sleep.
Today, I worked and had no desire to fight crowds. I have not shopped on black Friday for 2 yrs now. I'm going for simple this year and less expensive. My husband however, loves black Friday and he'll stay out all night at Best Buy for the good deal. He makes a huge effort to make an adventure out of it. Can't figure that one out. The gnomes and I and dogs, stay home.

Oh Marie, good for you...staying home, you know to play with that new glitter! I did go out into the stores, not to shop but to work. I'm saving up all my energy for day-after-Christmas sales, its a family tradition.

There was nothing I needed that bad to get out in that craziness!
