Our Daily Bread - A Grand Table

My dining room is more of an eat-in kitchen than a formal dining room and my dining table wouldn't know what to do with centerpiece.  Right now it's home to newspapers, tax forms, a blood pressure monitor and my laptop and coffee cup.  That's pretty much the norm around here.
Although I must admit that when I see wonderful flowers like these Ranunculus
(photos from Longwood Gardens), I'm tempted to pick a few and turn them into a pretty arrangement.  A beautiful tablecloth and a tzotchke or two, and suddenly I've created a lovely vignette...in my mind anyway!
Grand tablescapes just don't fit my lifestyle I guess!

But I am looking forward to one particular table.  One that I think will be grander and more beautiful than anything I can even imagine.  And I bet there won't be any newspapers piled up on it either!

"The Lord’s Table unites everyone Christ has redeemed by His blood “out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9). One day, in a scene of reunion and joy, all who belong to Jesus will sit down together with Him at a grand table.... We joyfully anticipate sharing that table together!"

I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.
—Matthew 26:29
