In my devotion for today I read about a young girl who wanted the author to mention her name in Our Daily Bread...it didn't seem like she had any particular reason, except that she wanted to see her name in print. As I thought about it, I remembered the programs, news clippings, bulletins, etc. that I've saved because someone in my family achieved a moment or two of fame. They did something and their name was suddenly worthy of a mention in print! My adult children are not sentimental. Each would suggest that I just throw that stuff away...afterall, that's what they would do with it when I'm gone. They are not that piece of paper. Having their name mentioned was nice but it didn't have any real impact on anyone but us...and that only for a short time.
But Jesus...now that's a special name.
His name was given to His parents by an angel!
His name was given to His parents by an angel!
“...call His name Jesus” (Matt. 1:21). Why? “For He will save His people from their sins.” No wonder His is the name above all names (Phil. 2:9). It’s a name that reveals His purpose—to provide salvation from the penalty of our sins..."
"Jesus: His name and His mission are one and the same."
Jesus...now there's a name worth mentioning!

I have enjoyed reading your posts to catch up. The pictures taken when your Mom was there are so beautiful..you created a very special guestroom for her to relax in after returning from the many activities you planned. You are very thoughtful and loving Marie and I'm sure she's sharing the details of her adventures with her friends now that she's home. memories-aren't they the best gifts we can give?
Jesus....a name i love to "drop" whenever possible!
Blessing to you at Easter and always dear friend!
I'll have your swap partner's name to you soon!
