After

My cataract surgery went well. I'm driving and back to work.  My vision is a little wonky...the doctor said it could take about a week for the blurriness and halos to go away.  But something that improved immediately is the color that I see!!

Everything is so bright.  White is so white!! I tried to play around with a photo of some artwork from my bathroom...just to give an idea of the difference I'm seeing.  If I cover the "new" eye I see the first photo.  But if I look through the new eye, with the other one covered, I see the prettier look of the second photo.  It's really incredible.  It never occurred to me that color would change.  It's like everything looked a little bit "aged" with the cataract in place. Of course, I guess that makes sense....my eyes are "aged"!

Right now I have to cover my left eye in order to see the bright, new color.  But in a few weeks, after the surgery on the left eye, it'll be a whole, new, colorful world!  I can't wait!

I picked out some paint and carpet colors last week...I better go look at them again with just my right eye!  Hope I still like the colors I chose!

too bad you had to go back to work so soon :) I had no idea that cataracts effected the way you see color. very interesting.

Yay! I'm happy to hear that the procedure went well! Everyone I know who has had cataracts removed has said that about seeing colors more brightly. On to #2!
Happy. Friday!

Happy to hear your surgery went well. At my last eye doctor appointment he said I have the very beginning stages of a cataract. He said everyone gets them eventually.
