God's Canvas

My daughters are fond of teasing me about all the pictures I take of the sky.
But I can't help it. The sky is "right there" every day!
Having a camera in my phone makes picture taking so easy too.

It's difficult to look up and not see the beauty when God paints the sky!
It's ever-changing!  He puts on quite an art show!

What can I say?
I'm a sky lover!

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1

God Is with Us!

I especially enjoyed the "Christmas Encouragement" that Greg Laurie shared today.
The summary sentence was:
"The message of Christmas is God with us!"

How can you not be encouraged by that!

"If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me" - Psalm 139: 9-10

That is such an awesome promise!  No matter where you're at in life...He's with you.  No matter what valley you're stuck in, He is right there beside you...loving you and encouraging until you make your way out. Then when you're up on that mountain top,  He is rejoicing right beside you!

God is with you.
He's there in the daily stuff.
The good.
The bad.
The mess.
The best day ever.
He never leaves you.
He goes where you go.
Always.

How's that for encouragement!!

The Anchor Holds

I've always loved listening to this song.
It's such a powerful reminder that God always carries us through
the storms of life. Always....

Hearing the story behind the song makes it even more special.

 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

Fire In The Sky

I am still recovering from THE WORST COLD EVER!!
So I'm not feeling much like creating a blog post.  But it just so happens that I took these awesome SKY photos last week.  I  mean really....who needs a blog post created by me, when you can see pictures of a sky straight from the Creator Himself!!

These photos were "sharpened" a bit using ipiccy.com, but no other editing was done.
I didn't mess with the colors at all!
God is a pretty amazing artist, isn't He!?

I took this last photo about 15 minutes after the first bunch.  It's obviously from in front of my house, rather than from the back yard.  This photo gave me the title of this post. I think it really looks like there's a Fire In The Sky.

"Lord, our Lord,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
    in the heavens."
Psalm 8:1

The Painted Sky

I'm really trying to be more aware of God's creation.  I really want to pay attention
to all the beautiful things He's given to us....if I only would take time to look.

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Psalm 19:1

The evening sky...just as I arrived home from work...right in my own backyard!

"I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies."
Psalm 108:3&4

Where Was God

If you have about three minutes...
you might like to listen to this.

~~~:::~~~
42 years ago today, when I was fifteen, my father died.  He died when he was 41 years old.
He's been dead longer than he was alive.
I would have liked to have known him better....but I'm glad to have known him at all.
God Bless America
Have a happy day...to all!
God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? ... I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.
I Know...
Look at the scenery God gave me.
Taken somewhere between Florida and Maryland ~ way, way, way up!
“God is not a belief to which you give your assent.
God becomes a reality whom you know intimately,
meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength,
whose love, your love.
Live this life of the presence of God long enough
and when someone asks you,
“Do you believe there is a God?”
You may find yourself answering,
“No, I do not believe there is a God.
I know there is a God.”
Ernest Boyer, Jr
