Grandkids and Birthdays

We celebrated the last one for the year a week ago.

Caleb...at his birthday party...last Saturday!

Five years old!!!

So far this year, I've pretty much ignored my blog, so there were no special

birthday posts for each of them. Pitiful....I know!

Next year I hope that I'm better about it. It's a joy to look through this blog and

experience their birthdays past once again.

Fortunately I did share birthday photos on Instagram!

Elijah - 8 years old on January 7th

Fletcher - 2 years old on January 7th

Penelope - 7 years old on March 25th

August - born on April 18th (this year)

Louisa aka Lulu - 3 years old on May 8th

Charlotte - 8 years old on May 14th

Caleb - 5 years old on July 25th

I am so blessed to have seven sweet grandchildren.

I thank God for them...always!

Penelope is Six

Almost didn't get this posted today!

TODAY...MARCH 25th...

someone special is having a birthday!!

Sweet Penelope is SIX YEARS OLD!

She's a sweet as the day she was born!

Some of the family met at Chevy's (her choice for a birthday dinner) and then we got together at Gramma's and Grandpa's house for presents and ice cream.

We continued the FIESTA theme that began at Chevy's!

Her gift from Aunt Mandy brought the biggest smiles!

Lego Duplo Ice Cream! She loved it!

We love Penelope...and we hope your day was extra-special in evry way!! Yay for SIX! Yay for Penelope!!

Penelope's 5th birthday was last week. Her mommy and daddy asked her where she'd like to go to eat, and she said "the place with the chips, the salsa, and the big birthday hats". So that's where they took her (and Fletcher, two grammas, and a grandpa too!).

As you can see, she enjoyed her chips and salsa...a lot!

The staff sang "happy birthday" and gave her a brownie.

She also got to take this awesome hat home!

On Sunday she had a "fancy ball" birthday party at my house.

The decorations were fancy...and pink, of course!

Her mommy asked a friend to come and braid Penelope's hair (thanks Regina!). It looked so pretty! She also wore a very fancy dress...and she loved the yummy treats her mommy made her.

She got some fun gifts too...including a Lalaloopsy, a ukulele, some games,

and a bike from gramma and grampa.

Some happy days for a sweet girl!!

She was even happier when she saw that it was snowing. She was hoping for snow for her birthday party....and sure enough, on March 30th, her hopes came true!

The rest of us weren't quite as excited as she was about the snow!

Penelope is Five!

Somebody special is five years old today.

This somebody is very fond of pink!

Happy Birthday to Penelope!!!

A few weeks ago she came to our house for dinner and an evening of crafting.

She has been wanting to make colored clay "forever"! We took some white modeling clay and added a bit of acrylic paint to it. Then Penelope kneaded and stretched until she worked the color through the whole piece of clay.

Then it was time to create...decisions, decisions! She finally decided to make a little something for each of her family members, plus Gramma and Grampa.

Look at all the pretty colors we made!

Here's what she ended up with....with a little help from me.

A green lollipop for Daddy, and a pink one for Penelope. Fletcher gets a sailboat, and Mommy gets a flower. I love the sun she gave to me, and Grampa loves the funny face lollipop for him.

I helped her make the caterpillar, which she decided was for her "whole family"! She decided that I need to add a magnet to each one because "they will look so cool on refrigerators"!
