the cottage

Well, here it is ~ the store that started it all. I read about this shop way back in August of 2008 on Joyce's blog ~ Scrap For Joy. I've wanted to visit "the cottage" ever since. Especially when I realized how close Leesburg, VA is! Thank you, thank you, thank you Joyce ~ I LOVE this delightful little store!

Have you ever seen so many ladders!
Above is the front yard and below the side yard. I love the abundance of color ~ it just makes me happy!

Check out this little sign (in the wash tub).
I was wondering how much the ladders were!!

I love red and I love this lamp!
Sadly ~ it was a little out of my price range that day. Maybe it will be there next time and I'll be better prepared!

Again with the color! I love this display!!

I want to sleep in this bed! Actually, I'd just like to lay on it and stare at all the fun stuff! Did I mention that I like red! (and green and yellow too)

Love the chalkboard walls ~ I need to do a chalkboard wall in my house ~ my grandbabies would love it!

The shop is wonderful. I will return. Soon I hope!

Again, just a tiny purchase. Three little soaps. They smell divine!

It's so nice to be able to take pictures in these shops. If it looks like I won't be able to control my camera I make sure to stop and ask if photos are allowed. Most of the time the answer is yes. I love to sit and look at them on my laptop....it's almost like being there again....almost!

Hi sweet Marie,
I'm so glad the little squirrels arrived safe and sound. I sure hope I included a thank you for the wonderful magazines in my note to you inside the box. I have sure enjoyed them! Thank you again, Marie.
I loved going on the "field trip" with you to 'The Cottage' and also to the 'One a Whim', below. How nice that they let you take photos.
I also got a kick out of the pic of "Aunt Mandy" with the little ones. So Cute!!!
Take care,
Mary Lou

It looks like a place you could lose yourself in for at least a few hours. I think my favorite thing to see was the chalkboard wall. I would of loved something like that when I was a kid.

Thank you for the compliments on my latest works. I definitely will be putting the sunflowers in the shoppe (hoping to do other colors too possibly). I am still thinking about the penny rugs. There is so much time in them.

Hope your enjoying your week!
*hugs*
Debbie

What a charming shop that is. I love how colorful and cheerful it looks. I wonder if I could move in and just live there :) I'll have to remember the next time I go to that one little town to ask if I can grab a few shots.

Hi my friend,
You have been so busy blogging to your hearts content and I have been absent...too tired to think...I had a rant and rave moment the last couple of days but I'm back to HAPPY again! I love the tour of the shops...I'm with you...I love it all. Maybe not good for the savings account but it's good for the heart to dream and ponder and plan for future visits. Good to be back with you! I'm onward tomorrow for the last week on Jelly Bean Island where we are happily re-building the Fairyland.

Visiting from New friend Friday! I love that store. There is a place like that not far from my house that I discovered by accident on a snowy day. It is great to find these places!
