Mommalicious

Last week I visited Historic Downtown Lancaster, PA.  I visited a couple stores I'd been to before...including this one: Mommalicious.
I didn't take a lot of photos in this store...I was too busy looking around.

I love the walls in this place...plaster, peeling paint and all!

See that bit of red behind Tisha's hand....I bought one of those.

I do not understand the appeal of taxidermy...however, I had to take a photo of this piece.
It made me think of my boss.  : )

Here's that little bit of red that I bought.  It's label said enamel soap dish.....but really
it's a chalk holder for our playroom!
Perfect, don't you think!?

Lucketts

NOTE: If you left click on the photo it will enlarge and if you left click on the enlarged photo it will enlarge once more....good for seeing the details.

This was my favorite stop in Leesburg ~ LUCKETTS STORE!
As soon as I saw it I knew it would be. Just look at all the wonderful stuff!!

Katie found something immediately.
"C" for Charlotte of course!

First stop was the cashier's desk. May I take pictures here? Yes you may!
I took a bunch!
Including one of a squirrel with pink paper ears!

There's more than one building at Lucketts and a lot of carport like buildings on the grounds. The photos of the bedroom filled with butterflys and the angel below it were taken inside this yellow building ~ I love the polka dot shutters!

But back inside the main building we go. This dress form made the perfect jewelry display. So perfect that most of the necklaces were gone!
Duct Tape! Nice touch!

Mandy liked this display. I'm still trying to decide what I think of it! Kind of reminds me of The Addams Family!

This room was beautiful. The displays thoughout the store were fantastic.
Look ~ Gail, Katie and Mandy (her arm & bag at least) are all in one photo!

We headed back outside to check out the displays there.

Here's the two photos inside the polka dot shutters building! It was so pretty inside.

Katie really liked the "hello" sign but passed on buying it.

I found a few things that I didn't pass on!
Some bottles, a bit of lace, two sparkly trees, a few crystals and a photograph.

I'm going to "plant" these little trees inside a pretty cup ~ there were two more and I wish I'd bought them too! They're covered in beautiful glass beads.

I really like the photo of the young girl but the back of the frame was the deciding factor in buying it. W. A. Brown ~ a furniture dealer & funeral director!!
Mr. Brown was multi-talented man.

I will return to Lucketts Store. Their 11th Annual Spring Market is coming up on May 22nd & 23rd. Over 100 antique dealers will be there. Hmmmmm........

Make sure you take a look at the website....it'll make you smile (and drool a little too!)

the cottage

Well, here it is ~ the store that started it all. I read about this shop way back in August of 2008 on Joyce's blog ~ Scrap For Joy. I've wanted to visit "the cottage" ever since. Especially when I realized how close Leesburg, VA is! Thank you, thank you, thank you Joyce ~ I LOVE this delightful little store!

Have you ever seen so many ladders!
Above is the front yard and below the side yard. I love the abundance of color ~ it just makes me happy!

Check out this little sign (in the wash tub).
I was wondering how much the ladders were!!

I love red and I love this lamp!
Sadly ~ it was a little out of my price range that day. Maybe it will be there next time and I'll be better prepared!

Again with the color! I love this display!!

I want to sleep in this bed! Actually, I'd just like to lay on it and stare at all the fun stuff! Did I mention that I like red! (and green and yellow too)

Love the chalkboard walls ~ I need to do a chalkboard wall in my house ~ my grandbabies would love it!

The shop is wonderful. I will return. Soon I hope!

Again, just a tiny purchase. Three little soaps. They smell divine!

It's so nice to be able to take pictures in these shops. If it looks like I won't be able to control my camera I make sure to stop and ask if photos are allowed. Most of the time the answer is yes. I love to sit and look at them on my laptop....it's almost like being there again....almost!

On A Whim

My recent trip to the Leesburg, Virginia area couldn't have taken place on a more beautiful weekend. The weather was absolutely wonderful. Our first stop for shopping was
On A Whim. A great shop in a barn with a pink silo ~ yes, those are polka-dots on the silo!

There's a small building right next to the barn. It's full of all kinds of pretty things.
dresses, hats, bags ~ fabulous frou-frous everywhere!

Inside the main building was no less delightful!
Scrumptious rooms, little vignettes.
Just pretty to look at everywhere!

Mandy loved the colors in this room!

They even set up shop outdoors. Anyone need a door? Or maybe some shutters?

Maybe a bed frame ~ wouldn't these be the perfect "flower bed" in your garden!

I didn't buy much ~ just this tiny little bag full. But I'm going back again with some measurements in hand and a large vehicle to fill up. I loved this shop!

I wish I had bought this green metal frog ~ I meant to go back and pick it up but forgot to. : (

Here's the little treasures I did buy ~ several postcards and the tiny silver tray!
The cute bird business card holder is from our stop at Cracker Barrel.

I'll be posting pictures from the other neat shops we visited throughout the week. I've been wanting to visit this area for quite a while ~ now I just can't wait to go back!
