Dreams of a "Painted Garden"

I recently found this wonderful book. I have high hopes that it will help me out with my weekend project. It's full of inspiration and motivation and some really good ideas! Not to mention all the pretty watercolor illustrations.

My yard needs a lot of good ideas.....it could also use a green thumb. I don't even have a green pinkie! But I will persevere....in fact I've already pulled out a lot of dead stuff and last night I went to Lowe's and got some new stuff.

I bought some ground cover for around this clematis.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do here. It's a slope and the dirt washes straight down it onto the cement deck around our pool. I think it needs a brick border.

I have some herbs and veggies to go in this bed and some grass seed patch stuff to try and fill in the lawn a bit. I have mulch and there are some paving stones around somewhere too ~ I think I'll try using some of them in here.

I'll be focusing on these two areas of my yard. Hopefully there are some changes coming. Stay tuned.

We don't have a garden, so unfortunately I have no experience and can't come up with any tips. The book looks great. I love those watercolor illustrations. Have fun working in your garden, Marie.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Julia
