Yummy Food & Matchbox #1

The Countdown to Christmas Matchbox Swap Photos start today ~ see the end of this (cute kids) post.

Penelope is getting a little kitchen for Christmas this year.
(It's a surprise of course, but it's okay, she doesn't read Gramma's blog!)
Mommy and Daddy are getting lots of neat accessories for the kitchen and I bought some dishes and "glasses" for her.  But the kitchen wouldn't be complete without some food.  We need to find some really great food.  That shouldn't be hard though because there are sources for play food everywhere!

Sushi

Cereal

Wooden Hamburger & Fries

Shopping for fun play food will be very convenient for Penelope. (once she has her kitchen)  All kinds of great food is going to be right there in her own home!  Her Mommy (Jacqi) has been busy teaching herself how to crochet food!  She is doing an amazing job of it!  Just look at the banana, eggplant and (my personal favorite) strawberries she made!  These are so cute ~ they look good enough to eat!

Elijah: "Do you think Penelope will let us play with her in her new kitchen?"
Charlotte: "She'll definitely let me, but you might need to be out here raking up all these leaves!"

Credit for Penelope, banana, and strawberries/eggplant photographs goes to Jacqi ~ thanks Jacqi!

*************

Back in October I told you about the 25 matchboxes I made for a Countdown to Christmas Swap. Well, the countdown begins today! For the next 25 days I will be showing the matchboxes I received from 25 different women. One a day ~ Every day ~ For 25 days!

So be sure to stop by my blog to see all the cute little treasures I got. Stop by A Swap for all Seasons too. Linda will be showing all her matchboxes plus she has links to the 70 plus women who participated in this fun swap!

Now on with the show!

Matchbox #1

Matchbox #1 comes from Linda at The Scented Cottage. It has a precious little picture of baby Jesus on it and tucked inside is a little ornament that says "BELIEVE". I do.....
Thank you Linda ~ what a great way to start the Christmas season. "Believe" in the reason for the season.

All of those foods are so cute! I LOVE the name Penelope. I always said I was going to name one of my girls that, but daddy said NO.

Your first matchbox is BEAUTIFUL! What a way to start off the month!

Play food fascinates me even now! We have a kitchen area in the grandkids room and they all putter in there making pretend.

I think the little matchbox ornament is so beautiful! How exciting to see all 25! Will you be putting them on your Christmas tree?

I need the sushi! That is cute. That is probably cuter than anything I could crochet (with a free pattern - lol). Seriously, the peppers I've been working on - not cool.
