Family, Food & Fun!

We visited The Boulevard Diner last Saturday....it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives recently, and since it's located about half way between the Jo(e)s house and my house it's a good place to meet!  None of us had been there before but based on the show we figured it was going to be worth a visit.  Here's the YouTube video of the show.

Now, onto our visit. It's starting off good....the menu has an index!

Decisions, decisions........

Mark knows what he's going to order.  Ah...anticipation!

We ALL know what Joe's going to order!

Ha,  ha, ha!!!
Shhh...Caleb's snoozing.

Bill and Mandy like to check out what other diners are getting.  I think they're both contemplating changing their orders.

Caleb is not waking up gracefully...looks like this mama could use a little help.

As long as there's chocolate milk, Charlotte is happy!

We all agreed that the "stuffed grape leaves" needed to be tried.  Most of us liked them.  The video shows how they're made.

My food.....The Phat Elvis.  Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, onions......no WW point counting tonight!  I took home more than half of this.

Mark's Meatloaf Tower...yes, that is an onion ring on top!  Bill got this too.

Mandy's Titan.  Steak, Feta cheese, tomatoes, spinach...yum!

Johanna got the (video) featured Sour Beef and Dumplings.  She loved it.  Elijah...not so much!

Katie ordered the Boulevard Cuban.  Pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickle, mustard, & mayo on a grilled bun. I had a bite...it was good!

Charlotte had mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs.  She has Olympic rings painted finger nails.  Wish I'd gotten a close-up of those!

Here's a peek at Elijah's chicken strips and fries...and in the distance you can see the top bun of Joe's sandwich.  You can also see the rather amazed look on Mark's face.

Caleb just caught a look at his Dad's sandwich.  "Gramma. Do you see that?"

Whoa....that thing is huge!!!!!!!

Yes. It. Is.

He's laughing....now.

But he's thinking - "I can't believe I ordered this!

Oh. My. Gosh!

"May I have a box please?"  They actually brought him a cake box.  Four other traditional carry-out boxes were brought to our table.  Next time I think some sharing will be going on.

Dessert anyone?

Oh yeah......Baklava Cheesecake.  It's my favorite...I love it!  I mean it's Baklava AND Cheesecake.  What's not to love?!

Gramma...we're too full for dessert!

We had a great time at The Boulevard Diner and we're really glad that we saw it featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.  Some of us have decided we need to visit other places featured on that show.  We're working on a plan right now.

Since it's Wednesday I had to share a peek at the sweet girl who, along with her parents, missed out on our diner visiting fun.  But it looks like she's been having some fun of her own!
Looking good Penelope!!

Gosh, what fun that must have been! I can't believe the food! It's funny how men gravitate to large stacks of meat. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes look really good, even this early in the morning. Trying more of the places featured on the show would be really fun. Keep us tuned in!

We get hungry every time we watch Guy. You are so right...don't count the points here. I'm with Mark-that meatloaf mountain with the onion rigs looked fab but I think sharing is a smart idea. What a fun bunch you all are!
Loved readiing this adventure and seeing the kids.

(The notecards you found are so sweet!
