The Finished Lamp

UPDATE: I used four doilies. Two large and two small. First I sewed on the large ones and then used the smaller ones to fill in a couple tiny holes and to add a bit of interest. Someday I'll remember to take photos of "the process"!

I love it!  I'm going to add "something" to the empty oval space.  An applique, some buttons, something.....what do you think I should add?

This is beautiful Marie. Is it stitched? Glued? Do you have a strip of lace that you could twist and wind into a rose for that medallion? Great job!

I love it! You are such a clever girl!

Have you seen how popular the vintage brooches are now? Maybe one of those would look good in that spot, if it wasn't too heavy!

It looks awesome! If you want a pop of color I would put a few colorful flowers on it. If you want to keep it monotone, I like Joyce's idea.

Yours turned out even prettier than your inspirations. You'll come up with the perfect thing for that oval space!

Marie, I love it. That looks fantastic. Now I want to go get an old lampshade and some doilies and make one. I used to have a lamp just like that when I was in high school.

Marie, that is awesome. Maybe some pretty beads or lacy covered buttons if not to heavy. You'll come up with something, just show us what you do. Pj

Oh my gosh that's lovely! You sewed those on the frame? I WANT THAT! And I like yours better than the inspiration shades. I am going to need to follow you!

It's gorgeous! I love the idea of a pretty brooch, but mother of pearl buttons would look nice too.

I like yours better than those that were your inspiration. I don't think I would change a thing, maybe a small piece of neutral lace or applique.
