so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

It Is Friday...

...But Sunday is Coming!!

But he took our suffering on him and felt our pain for us.

We saw his suffering and thought God was punishing him.

But he was wounded for the wrong we did;

he was crushed for the evil we did.

The punishment, which made us well, was given to him,

and we are healed because of his wounds.

We all have wandered away like sheep; each of us has gone his own way. for all the evil we have done.

He was beaten down and punished, but he didn't say a word.

He was like a lamb being led to be killed.

He was quiet, as a sheep is quiet while its wool is being cut; he never opened his mouth.

Isaiah 53:4-7

Easter Eggs

Easter Egg decorating couldn't have been easier at my house
this year...thanks to Walmart and Target!

First I found these "Decorating Easter Eggs" at Walmart.
Plain white, dyeable, lightweight eggs....and only $1.98!

A few days later I found these Egg Wraps at Target...$3.00 for the package.

Eggs plus wraps plus a pot of boiling water and a spoon later and I have
some really pretty, unbreakable decorative eggs.
Ms. Chick and I are very happy!

I love the bright, cheery colors!

If you're counting, you may have noticed that there are only eleven eggs.
Sadly, one of the wraps slipped and then sealed around the end of one of the eggs.
I guess it took the place of the boiled one I usually break each year...

Time to Get Crackin'

I don't do much in the way of Easter decorating.  Mostly just some decorated eggs and springy flowers.  But this year I added a couple new pieces of Easter decor. I mean who could resist these!

I think the egg may stay out year round. I can always use a little encouragement to get crackin'!

Happy Monday!

He Is Risen Indeed!

But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Easter Images

I found these greeting card images in a folder on my computer several weeks ago.
Sadly, I don't remember where they originally came from.
I think older greeting cards had the cutest images on them.  Don't you!

Wouldn't they be cute as an Easter banner!!?

The Savior

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:6

Good Friday

"But, isn't our failure the perfect place to start?
It leaves us empty, even despairing.
It leaves us hanging on by a thread for Easter, for resurrection, for renewal -
for someone to save us from this mess we've made.
It leaves us needing Him, more than ever."
Edie

I am feeling like a bit of a failure this Good Friday.
A failure in my spiritual life. My life as a believer.
So many good intentions...not nearly achieved.
Too many excuses for not doing the right thing.
Not enough time....for Him. For praise and worship.
For fellowship. For prayer.

I visited a blog the other and read the quote at the top of this post.
It ministered to me, it blessed me. It encouraged me so much.

What am I waiting for?

What better day than today to say to myself..."remember, you are redeemed in Christ"!
Not only has He paid for my past failures (something I seem to remember),
He's already paid for the failures going on right now too.

Edie's right....our failures are the  perfect place to start. Our emptiness doesn't have to last.
As a believer, I have hope, I have the Resurrection, I am Renewed.
I am Redeemed.

Our Daily Bread - No Greater Love

"To give your life so another person can live is the ultimate proof of love. During the night that Jesus was betrayed, He told His disciples of His intention to give His life in exchange for mankind. He told them: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13). And then He set the ultimate example of self-sacrifice by going to the cross.  Have you ever given any thought to the fact that Jesus did that for you—that He died in your place? In so doing, He not only proved His love for you, but He also made it possible for you to be forgiven of your sins and to have an eternal home in heaven."   Our Daily Bread

He who gave Himself to save me,
Now will keep me to the end;
In His care securely resting
On His promise I depend. —Bosch

Today, as Christians around the world celebrate what happened on that first Good Friday, may this truly become a “Good Friday” for you, as you open your heart and life to Jesus Christ. “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
Billy Graham

I pray that each of you have a blessed Easter!

It Is True!

As you celebrate what God has done
Through Christ the Lord, His only Son,
May you realize in all you do
What love the Father has for you!

Have a blessed weekend!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only
begotten Son....”
John 3:16 KJV
