Time to Get Crackin'

I don't do much in the way of Easter decorating.  Mostly just some decorated eggs and springy flowers.  But this year I added a couple new pieces of Easter decor. I mean who could resist these!

I think the egg may stay out year round. I can always use a little encouragement to get crackin'!

Happy Monday!

It's Growing....

I know....I seem to be hung up on taking photos in my backyard.  It's a good growing year, and I want to remember it.  Chances are it may never happen again!!
We're putting in several new beds.  Here's a peek at a sloped area I'm working on.  My goal is too remove all the grass and fill it in with rocks and ground cover.  I really love the pretty little flowers on this Moss Rose.

I have two baskets of  Calibrachoa hanging around. The tag called these "Zany, mandarin orange flowers on a good strong plant".  I need a little zany in my garden!

I just can't get enough of my New Dawn roses...aren't they beautifully fluffy!!

The Day Lilies are growing like crazy...pretty soon Rusty won't be able to see the pool.

Coreopsis in the background and a pretty planter full of a variety of plants. In between is our crazy Sweet Autumn Clemetis.  It grows like crazy, and come September it will be a mass of white blooms.

A pot of New Guinea Impatiens that Mandy gave me for Mother's Day hangs from our pergola.  I love our pergola!

Lettuce.....eat salad.  In about four weeks. Yum!

Here's another area we're working on this year. It's under the Oak tree...moss loves to grow here.  Because of the tree roots it's difficult to dig a hole to plant anything large in. Bill built this little raised area for the new Limelight Hydrangea we just bought. Perfect solution.  We're not sure where the tiny evergreen came from...but he rescued it and we'll find it a new home.

I sure am enjoying this beautiful spring in my backyard!

It's Almost Here.

We got some more of this white stuff this week.

We also got some single digit temperatures again.

My work calendar says this...

Thank goodness!!!

A Touch of Spring

Did a little Springtime display in my living room last weekend.   Here's a peek at the old dresser between two windows.  Hopefully the top of this dresser will very soon be showing off a coat or two of paint.  Just need to decide what color.

Did you notice? I'm embracing the fake flowers again!

I found this Lefton chick planter at a thrift store - it's one of my favorite springtime pieces.

Springtime wouldn't be complete without a sweet little bunny...wings and all!

Have a wonderful day!

Brightening Things Up!

Twelve years ago we bought a picture to hang over one of my favorite pieces of furniture...THIS bookcase.  I loved the picture when we bought it and I still love the beautiful frame.  But I'm trying to brighten things up a bit and the picture just isn't working for me.  I'd really like to create something new to hang there, but I'm just not sure what.  Until I do, I think brightening up the things I put around it may help.  It's kind of working for me...for now.

Let There Be Light!

I've been looking for new lamps for my living room for months.  The lamps that were in there functioned but I wanted something new.  I have a tough time picking out lamps...I want them to be just right.  But during my search....well not really a search...the only place I've been looking is HomeGoods!  But I've been looking there for months!  Anyway, either I haven't seen anything I like, or the lamps I like have a price tag I don't.  Until yesterday.  I stopped at HomeGoods after church...it's so convenient...it's right across the street!  I'm so glad I stopped because my lamps were there waiting for me. I love them...they're just right!  I almost bought two of the first one with the ruffles, but then I saw the burlap shade with the flowers.  I decided one of each would be nicer....perfect!

I got a couple new pillows a few weeks ago...it's starting to look nice and fresh and springy in here!  Next stop....the windows!

She's Home!

Gramma missed this little girl!  She (and her mommy & daddy) went to Florida to visit some of her mommy's family.  Penelope got home last night and Mandy and I picked her up from the airport.  Now all is right with my world....all the grandbabies are back where they belong ~ within 45 minutes of me. Two are within ten minutes of me!  I am so blessed to have them so near.
P.S. Her mommy & daddy are home too!

Isn't this a beautiful sight!  Oh Spring....come quickly!
