A Swap For All Seasons

This year long swap has reached the end....it has been great fun. Linda - our swap hostess extraordinaire - guided us through a year of fun themes and color choices!! Now, I have a collection of great cards, cute tags, and plenty of destash to use in future creations.

Here's a look at what I received for the September swap. The theme was Halloween and the color, appropriately, was orange.

Rinda sent me a fun "trick or treat" card, a pretty fall tag, and a little bonus...a "scary" bookmark...complete with skulls!  She also sent me LOTS of orange destash.

My favorite bits of destash are this cigar band and the tiny orange safety pins.  The jack-o-lantern stickers will be a perfect addition to goodie bags for "the littles".

My send-to swap partner was Pam.  This is the card I made for her.
I love this vintage photo....it has a "ghost-like" quality about it.  I think this is one of my favorite cards (that I made) from this swap.
I'll be sharing another peek at all the cards I made next week.

I decided against "scary" for the tag...I think it turned out simple and kind of sweet!

I also sent Pam this bag of destash...I've already heard from her, and she liked it all.  I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with the orange #54 tag.

Linda! Thank you so much for a wonderful year of swapping fun!!!

A Swap For All Seasons

Life, the past month or so, has not been blog writing and reading friendly.  I have a little time here and there, but I haven't really been able to get back into a regular schedule.  Hope that changes because I miss visiting my blogging friends!
For the eleventh month in a row, I'm participating in A Swap For All Seasons...hosted by the wonderfully creative Linda!  She comes up with great ideas every month!  The theme for the August 1st mailing date was "Just My Style"...and I loved it!  Here's a look at the card and tag I created for Elizabeth...and the "destash" I sent to her.

As I mentioned, the theme was "Just My Style'.  I'm not sure I have a specific style.  I like colorful, retro, patriotic, lace and roses, vintage....pretty much you name it!  For "my style this month" I chose a neutral bird theme....and I'm really happy with how it all turned out.

The tag is one of my favorite ones that I've ever made. I love thatit has a lot going on...including one of the wire nests that I love to make!  Keeping with the neutral theme...I packaged the destash in a tiny, brown, paper bag.

Pam sent me this sweet card and tag.  She told me she chose a little boy and girl in honor of my grnadchildren (who appear frequently on my blog!). I though that was so thoughtful of her!!

Pam sent me quite the assortment of destash too!  I especially love the lily of the valleys postcard...the wooden spools...the yoyos...the milk cap...pretty much all of it!!
I just had to take a photo of the envelope she mailed my goodies in.  Aren't these stamps wonderful!  I'll be saving these for sure!

The theme for the final month in this series of swaps is Halloween...with a bit of orange destash...definitely another fun theme!!  I'd expect no less from Linda!

A Swap For All Seasons

I've been participating in A Swap For All Seasons, monthly, since last October.  Each month has been great fun!!  Our swap hostess, LInda, is amazing. She come up with an awesome idea every month. Last night I signed up for the final swap in the current series.  Each month we send someone a themed card and tag, and a bit of colorful "destash" (otherwise known as creative stuff you want to share with someone else!)
The final theme is Halloween...and the "destash" needs to be a little bit of orange!

Today I'm sharing what I sent and what I received for the July Swap.  The theme was "Share a Smile" and the color was purple.

Here's the card I sent to Deb at The Garage Sale Gal.
I love the sweet little girl in this image...she knows "Smiles are Best"!

This is the tag I sent to Deb....this little lady is laughing! But maybe just on the inside!
Don't you love her hat!

The idea is to send just a little bit of some purple supplies that you don't need anymore and
want to share.  Here's the "destash" I shared with Deb.

Now for a look at what I received from Susie at South City Hues
I love this "sweet and spicy" card...the girl with the curls just makes me happy!

Now take a look at this tag....look at that cute face!
When I first saw this tag, I thought, "what a minute. I KNOW that face!"
That's my grandbaby Lulu!
THIS is where Susie found that photo.  I love how she made this so personal for me!!

Then she also sent along this fun batch of "destash"!
LOVE the paint chips!

Later this week I'll share what was sent and received for the August 1st swap date.  Then I'll need to get to work on my Halloween swap card and tag. It's amazing that almost a whole year has gone by since beginning this! A huge thank you to Linda...this has been such fun!!

A Swap For All Seasons

The theme for the month of June in A Swap For All Seasons was "It's A Guy Thing". Destash was a little bit of black and/or gray.  I think it was a bit more of a challenge for most of us. I know I don't create "guy" cards very often.  But, it actually turned out to be kind of fun.

Here's a look at the card, tag, and destash sent to me by Jayne of Cardznmore.   I love the sports theme that Jayne used....especially the old time feel of it!   I use a lot of the muted red, white & blue colors in my family room...so I immediately knew the perfect place to display this card and tag. Bill's birthday falls on Father's Day this year....and that just so happens to be the day after Flag Day!  All of this together will equal a cute display!

Jayne spoiled me with lots of fun destash.  I love the felt bows....and the paper cuttings are beautiful. I can't wait to use them in some new project. The little girl with the sheep will be perfect mounted on some pretty paper and the framed.

I sent my creations to May over at May's Happy Daze, and I was so happy to hear that she liked the card, tags, and destash she received from me.

I usually keep my cards and tags pretty simple, and this month was no exception.  I really love how the tag turned out...my favorite part is the three inches of wooden ruler that I glued on. The image on the card is one of my favorites!

Finding gray and black supplies in my current stash sounded to me like it was going to be tough. But I once I started digging through my stash, I found lots of things to share.

A Swap For All Seasons is the best swap ever....a huge thank you to Linda for faithfully organizing us ever month!!
Linda, you have the best ideas ever!!

Swap For All Seasons

Here I am...late as usual with sharing what I sent and received for the May swap.  Our theme was weddings and our color cream or white.   This was one of my favorite months...both to give and receive.  I mailed to Lorraine.  She makes some beautiful paper art....and shares some free printables on her blog.  Here's a link to a peek at both.  Lorraine said that she liked the creamy treasures I sent to her.

This is the tag and the card I sent to her.  I love this image of a bride that I used on the tag...I think she looks so content and happy!

Wouldn't it be lovely if all marriages were of the "happily ever after" sort!

Putting together a bit of destash was very easy this month....I have lots and lots of cream and white goodies to share.

Joyce from Scrap for Joy mailed to me this month.  I was so excited when I saw she would be sharing her creations with me.  Joyce has been my friend for almost six years...she is one of the very best perks from starting this blog of mine!

Just look at the wonderful things she sent!  She loves to create with her Julie Nutting Paper Doll stamps.  Look how pretty the tag is!  Love the bit of bling she's wearing in her hair!

The card she created is amazing...layers and layers of paper lace, a sweet image, a silky flower, and more bling!  I have a couple weddings coming up...but I'm just not sure I can part with this card!

Look at the ribbon and ribbon cards she sent.  I have some bits of vintage lace that I'll wind onto the extra ribbon cards Joyce sent.  I LOVE the paper lace she sent...and you can never have too many creamy buttons!

This silk flower is over 4 inches in diameter...I'm thinking of pinning it to the doily lampshade I made over a year ago.  There's a perfect spot just waiting for it on the  shade.  Thanks so much for all the pretties you sent to me Joyce! You spoiled me for sure!!

June's swap theme is "A Guy Thing"...with some black or gray destash.  It might be a little more challenging, but I think it's going to be fun to see what everyone comes up with!

Linda, thanks so much for coming up with such awesome themes each month!  You are the best swap hostess ever!

A Swap For All Seasons

Here we are, almost half way through  April, and I'm just getting around to sharing about the April 1st "A Swap For All Seasons" mailing.  I know I'm not the only one who thinks this year is disappearing way to quickly!

The theme for April was Mother's Day, and the color was peach.

Here's a peek at the tag, card, and destash that I sent to ValeryAnne.
She sent me a sweet email after she received it.  I'm so glad she liked the things I sent!

"Your lovely parcel has arrived safe and sound.
Thank you so much for all the peach goodies. You have really gone and spoilt me.!
I love the card and tag. So very pretty. Just my style too."
Hugs ValeryAnne

I love this sweet little cottage.

I thought coming up with peach destash was going to be really difficult. But I had a lot more peachy stuff than I thought.  I love how the button card turned out!

I received my peachy treasures from Wendy.
The background paper for the tag is beautiful...love the sweet image as well.  Both the tag and the card are very simple and very sweet.

Wendy used a piece of fabric as the background for the card.
Love the LOVE stitched on top!

She spoiled me with a bunch of peach goodies too! Tags, trim, and buttons! Pretty hankies too...forgot to take a photo of them!

Thank you Wendy! I loved it all!

Now to get busy on the May Swap.
Our color is white.
Our theme is LOVE!
Linda has been sharing some wonderful ideas.
You can see them HERE.
