Up On The Rooftop...

...there were lights, and not a whole lot of room for reindeer's hoofs!

Katie and Mark decided to put up some Christmas lights this year.
They definitely did...and with excellent results!

Even the chimney got some lights wound around it!   Love the multi-colored, big, fat bulbs they used!!  I believe there are over 1100 of them.
Way to take advantage of after Christmas sales Katie and Mark!!

Charlotte loves flamingos...especially if they have Santa hats on!
The flamingo on the right was an after Christmas purchase as well...from Target.  Joe and Johanna found the flamingo on the left at Walmart this year.  With regards to Christmas flamingos, I'd say Walmart wins!!

Katie got the J - O - Y letters at Target last year.  They're perfect for the front window.
Love the peek at the tree through it, and the reflections of lights on it!

The colors are a bit off in this photo...but the tree still looks good!

I bet this guy is a popular ornament this year!
Lulu loves him!

Have a wonderful Monday!!
Remember...10 days until Christmas!!

A Birthday & Father's Day

Yesterday was Bill's Birthday...it was a significant birthday too!
A very special number was part of his birthday!!
For Bill, it means retirement...how's that for a birthday gift!

Katie, Mandy & Lulu took him to Outback for dinner....
they let me tag along too! It was very yummy!

I got Bill a new drill kit for his birthday gift.  Now that he's going to have some spare time on his hands, I've been adding to the honey-do list.  He was very happy with the drill kit (not to sure about the list!)......but I am sure that he was even happier with the gift the kids got him.

It's an extra-special gift...for his birthday AND Father's Day.  Something they've had for months.  Something he's talked about many times.  They got him tickets to an Eagles Concert!  On July 22nd, Katie and Mandy will be heading to Washington DC with him, to hear The Eagles.  Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit – will perform classics spanning their career including “Hotel California,” “New Kid In Town,” “Take It To The Limit,” “One Of These Nights,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Rocky Mountain Way,” “Best Of My Love” and “Take It Easy.”
Bill will enjoy every minute of it!!

Have a great time Bill!!  I know you will!!
Happy Father's Day (and Birthday) to you!
You're a great Dad...I love you!

Happy Father's to Kevin, Joe & Mark ...I hope your day is extra special!!
Praying God blesses it in a special way!

Remembering with love my father,
and my father-in-law.

Lego Likeness

My son-in-law Mark showed me this Lego figure he recently purchased...it reminded him of someone.
I saw the resemblance to who he was thinking of immediately.

It looks a lot like Bill's Dad.

I think it looks like Bill too!

Flu

This little gal has the flu, pink eye, and the beginning of pneumonia....prayers for healing are greatly appreciated!
Prayers for her pregnant momma, and worried daddy are requested as well.  This tired gramma could use some too.  This post is going up "real-time"...yes, it is 3:07 AM.  Evening trips to the ER will do that.  : (
Thanks for praying friends!!

Extra Thankful......

SECOND UPDATE
Peggy guessed the right answer!! Charlotte is going to be a big sister and we are all so excited. A fifth "little" to love. Thank you Lord....we are so blessed!!
UPDATE
There's been two guesses and they're both perfect....just not "the right" answer for this. I think we need a hint. How about "think little"! Read the board.....

~::~

The past week has been a blur....something going on everyday! Errands on Wednesday, Turkey Day with the whole family,  Costco, Target & thrift stores on Black Friday, "hard tack candy" making on Saturday, church then leftovers with the whole family on Sunday, and finally a very busy insurance work day after a long weekend off on Monday (yeah...that was crazy!).

I didn't take many photos...although I will give you all a peek at the candy later this week.  The photo below was taken by Katie and shared on her Instagram....so I borrowed it.  It's a peek at the really large blackboard in her kitchen. She, Mark and Charlotte filled it up with things they're thankful for this year.  By the way, "gramma & grandpa" are in the lower left corner...can't believe Katie cropped us right out of the photo!!
Love this blackboard full of thankfulness!  It just makes me happy!!

So in honor of me being happy...I say we have a little fun.  First comment that mentions "the something" I'm especially thankful for wins a little prize.   Maybe some of that candy I mentioned....maybe not.  I'm not sure what the prize will be, 'cause this was pretty spur of the moment.
There's only one right answer...if you know me, you'll know what it is!
So read the board...and take a guess.....oh, and make it a happy day!

Color Run Update

Katie, Mark, Mandy, Charlotte and I headed to Richmond, VA Friday night for The Color Run.  Bright and early Saturday morning, Katie, Mark and Mandy, along with 8000 of their closest friends ran in the craziest, most colorful, 5k ever!! Everyone had FUN!

Giant fans were set up at the end of the race...really powerful ones that blew the loose color off bodies and clothing. Great idea, especially since my car was the mode of transportation back to the hotel!  Blankets and towels further protected the upholstery from these colorful people.  It was almost sad because the fans blew all the bright, pretty color away. Everyone ended up looking a little "muddy" afterwards.
When Charlotte saw her momma, daddy and Aunt Mandy for the first time after the race, she didn't recognize them. I don't know why!!

The Color Run

Have you ever been to A Color Run?  I haven't....but I'm going to one tomorrow.  I can't wait!!  It looks like great fun.  No, I'm not running.  I'm watching.  I'm watching Charlotte while her momma, daddy and Aunt Mandy do the running.  I'm also watching all the color fly!

SO. MUCH. FUN!
