Random Monday Memory

When I was a little girl I remember going "back to school" shopping with my Mom. Most of our shopping was done at local stores. But we also took a trip to downtown Detroit where we visited J.L. Hudson Department Store. It wasn't the shopping experience that made an impression ~ it was the rides on the operator attended elevators! "Going up....!"

The sweetest memory about those trips to downtown was the stop at Sanders for one of these.....
A Hot Fudge Cream Puff!! Yummy! Hot fudge, a warm cream puff and cold vanilla ice cream ~ I can taste it now!

It was the best! (but not exactly Weight Watcher friendly!)

That's so funny. When I was little, sometimes my Mom would take my sister and me shopping in downtown Chicago (where I grew up)and our treat would be a hot fudge sundae instead of lunch...I continued that tradition occasionaly with my own kids! Your cream puffs look yummy!

Marie, I must back up a bit! Hudson's in Detroit! That is where my husband grew up! How about you? His sister still has the fondest memories of Sanders. Do you know that they still have an outlet store where you can purchase their carmel cakes? Such a fun post - I remember those elevator ladies - so elegant I thought they were! E
