An Apple A Day

We bought some yummy apples when we went to Weber's Farm.  We bought some Cortland, Red Delicious and my favorite.....Honey Crisp!!  It's the best apple I've ever bitten into....yum!

Yep, Honey Crisp is my favorite snacking apple.....but when it comes to baking (although honestly I don't bake often) I like Granny Smith Apples. One of my favorite autumn recipes is Brian's Apple Brownies.   Mmmm...Mmmm, Brian has good taste!!

What's your favorite autumn dessert?

I was watching a programme on tv last night, where they visited a place which had about 600 very old varieties of apples. Some of them were absolutely amazing. One variety apparently went back to Roman times! I love apple crumble made with Bramley apples. They are nice and tart.

My husband likes the Honeycrisp best too! We've been sampling the apples in our grocery store this season. They are so good this year! I still like my yellow/green ones best. I think those are Granny Smiths, right?

I'm with you on the Honeycrisp apples Marie...can't get enough of them. It's a shame their season is so short! My favorite dessert in the fall is pumpkin pie...yum!
Are you home?

Hi Marie!
I love this time of year because of the apple picking festivities at many of the local orchards here in NY. My favorite autumn dessert is apple crisp with caramel syrup; followed by pumpkin muffins as a close second. Your blog is such a blessing! I really enjoy reading it.
Best,
Rhea :)

YUM! Bushels of apples are always a beautiful site. We have been eating apples everyday for weeks, mostly with caramel dip but I'm craving hot apple pie.

My favorit autumn cake, is lightly boiled appel pieces, little sugar.
When cold layed in a bowl with first crunshed macaroons then appels, then whipped cream-and then all things all over again-ending with the whipped creame and gelly on top-uuhhhmmmm
Dos that sound good, dear Marie?

I've never heard of a honey crisp apple but it sure sounds delicious. Apple brownies sound pretty good too, going to check out that recipe.
