Smack in the middle of trying to beautify my craft room so I could "blog all about it" I had to make some tags for a swap I decided to join. It's being hosted by Karla Nathan of Karla's Cottage. Karla is also participating in "Where Bloggers Create 2011" ~ and if you haven't visited her studio yet you should! Click HERE to see it. It's beautiful! Now back to the swap. I mailed my seven tags to her on Friday so I thought I'd share a peek at them here. Unfortunately the photos didn't come out as well as I hoped they would and I forgot to take a photo of the back of the tags. They're backed in sheet music. I covered the front with kraft paper and added lace and hand stamped muslin ribbon to the lower half of the tag. A piece of corrugated cardboard on top of some black printed paper provides the base for the tiny nests full of eggs that I made. Satin ribbon and a rhinestone brad completes the tag.
Karla will take ALL the dozens of tags she receives and she'll create books of seven tags ~ one for each person participating. She's making her own covers for each tag book! I can't wait to get my tag book back and I'm very excited to be getting a piece of Karla's work. She makes some beautiful things!

Beautiful Marie! Love all the many elements and textures to your tags. I had to chuckle when you said this project came up in the middle of cleaning your studio...isn't that always the way. I need to find some kind of mantra that encourages a messy studio!

These tags are beautiful Marie. Charming and sophisticated at the same time. Love the homespun style nest and the black and white papers. All that cleaning kicked your creativity up a few notches! Can't wait to see the othr tags.
