Pinned It and Did It!

Irene came to visit and she brought along some wind and some rain. It rained from mid-afternoon on Saturday until early Sunday morning - we received just about 5 inches of rain. The winds were the strongest during the middle of the night ~ toppling some trees in our neighborhood and scattering branches and leaves everywhere.  But it doesn't look like we received any major damage and thankfully no injuries.
I know that isn't the case in many areas.

*****
While it rained I was playing on Pinterest...then I decided that I needed to get busy creating some more things that I had already pinned.  Something that I hope to do on (at least) a weekly basis!!
I tackled two projects on Saturday.

Here's my first Pinspiration!
It's a sweet pincushion pinned from Todolwen - Old to New's blog and it comes complete with a wonderful tutorial.  Isn't it pretty?  I think everyone needs a pretty pincushion!

So......here's my version! It's pretty similar to my Pinspiration piece but I think it has my own spin on it too.  It was fun to dig through my lace & trim box searching for just the right little bits of lace and ribbon for this pincushion.  Then it was into the button drawer to find some perfect MOP buttons.  I love how it turned out!

I took this next photo using the flash....kind of dark, but I like it.  The next one was without the flash (like the other 6) but with a pretty piece of paper tucked in behind it.  I don't know what was more fun...making the pincushion or taking pictures of it once it was done!

Pinned It and Did It......again! Woo Hoo!!

Marie, I love it! Even better than the model. I sooo need a new pincushion. I'm still using the same tomato/strawberry pincushion from when I was 13 - REALLY!!! It's loosing a bit of it's "oomph", though. Thanks for sharing. I think I might check out the tutorial and take a "stab" {he,he} at making one for myself!

Your latest creation is lovely. I really must stay off the computer and just make things for a while. I love your photos of the oin cushion, too. Picked out my favorite to "pin".
Haven't we come a long way since we first started blogging-lol!
Glad you had no damage from Irene. Our kids were all OK but my sister and BIL lost a huge tree right in fron of their house...luckily it fell toward the street.

I haven't gotten into the Pinterest thing yet.....Don't even know much about it! I do love your very sweet pin keep though. So thankful you were kept safe from the storm....the rain would have been a much welcomed blessing here :) Praying more is on our way soon...blessings on your week dear friend.
