Bloomin' Backyard and a Recipe

We have a lot of Day Lilies in our yard, and when they're in bloom they are everywhere. But there's always room for more....I'd love to get some purple ones!

"Strawberry Candy"

"Wild Orange"

"Common Tawny"

But they Daylilies aren't the only things blooming. There are pops of colors scattered here and there...including some beautiful shades of green.  I love when the green is vivid and bright...it (almost) makes a hot day feel a little bit cooler!

"Yarrow" and "Peppermint"

"Lavender"

"Mandevilla"

"Black-Eyed Susan"

Besides the flowers that are in bloom...we also have a little bit of lettuce, a couple tomato plants, and a big pot of this.....

"Swiss Chard"

I found a recipe (on Pinterest of course!) for "Spicy "Swiss Chard Chips".  They sound yummy and easy and I have all the ingredients.  They are definitely going on my "to-do" list  this week!
Happy Monday!!

Yardsticks and Rulers

I have a pretty nice collection of yardsticks and rulers!  This photo shows many of them.
The aqua yardstick is one of my favorites. It's a great color!

Pinterest has a pretty nice assortment of ideas for using them!
Using them on stair risers is my favorite...but I'm pretty sure it won't be Bill's favorite.

Covering a tabletop with some, or using them to make a hook board are
 pretty fabulous ideas too!

Look what you can do with just one yardstick! Love this tree!!
I think it would look great on my front door next Christmas.

Key chains are a perfect way to use up some of the scraps, and even a little inch can
become a fun magnet!  So many ideas...so little time.
But I really hope to make one or two of these ideas happen soon!

Pinterest

You can find the cutest things on Pinterest!
Then those "finds" lead you to some of the prettiest blogs.

I need a few more hours in each day to visit Pinterest and the blogs it introduces me to.
There's so little time and so much inspiration!!

Happy Monday!

Muddy Feet

The warmer weather is coming eventually.
Do you know that it snowed here...two weeks ago Sunday. This past Sunday the temperature climbed to 82 degrees, it rained all day yesterday, temps dropped into the 20s last night, and for the next three days we'll have high temps in the low 50s.
But the warmer weather IS coming, and I want to be prepared.

Pinterest is the best place to find fun activities to do with the little people.
I've found a bunch of things to do with or for them.
You can see my "Grandbaby" pin boards HERE and HERE.
I've gathered together lots of fun ideas - at least I think they're fun!  Hopefully they will too.
Here's a few of my favorites!

I REALLY LOVE this next idea...it may take a little talking to convince Bill that our yard needs something like this in it.  You can read all about the Mud Kitchen HERE.  My granddaughters would think this was the best thing ever....not sure if Elijah would. He likes to be clean!!

But these two little girls think mud is fun!!!

Smile

I have a board on Pinterest called "Smile".  An image doesn't get 'pinned' there unless the first thing I do when I see it is "smile".  Looking at it has to make me happy.
Here are some of the images that passed the "Smile" test.
Hope they make you smile too!

So....which one made you smile!?
Visit my "Smile" board for links to these images.

Decisions, Decisions.

This dresser belonged to Bill's grandmother...it's now located in our living room.  The drawers are huge...it's a great place to store the things that aren't on display any given season. But it's showing some age....it needs some tender loving care.  Especially the top of the dresser.  I
just can't decide what that care will be.
Do I paint it?  Maybe decoupage it?  Maybe just give it a good cleaning and some fresh stain?  Whatever I do...should I do it to the whole piece?  Maybe just the top?
Maybe just the drawer fronts?  Hmmmm......

It will take me a while to make up my mind about what I want to do....it'll take me even longer to actually do it!  In the meantime, I'll just keep the top of it camouflaged with all kinds of treasures!!

Here's a couple looks that I'm considering.
Pinterest to the rescue you know!!

I'm linking up with Be Inspired @ Elizabeth & Co.

Have a Heart

Well, I finally got my house back to normal. It took a good bit of time to get all the Christmas
stuff put away...and then it took even longer to get all my regular stuff back in place.
Now I think it's time to add a little bit of heart to my home.
As usual, I haven't left myself much time to do it.
How can Valentine's Day be less than two weeks away!!
But I'm going to try and make a few things I saw on Pinterest.

I like hanging things on knobs...this piece reminds me
of a postage stamp.

These yarn hearts look quick and easy.

Cream cheese & mint lollipops...can I get a YUM!
Plus they're so pretty!

Such a fun,  colorful heart. This might be the first one I make.

Love this reminder of our true Valentine!
I recently found Shannon's blog called Sweet Blessings (thank you Pinterest).
She has other really great printables that she makes and shares!!
She shares a lot about faith too. I really like reading her blog.
Hope you get a chance to visit it.

Happy February!!
