I found these paper mache birds in the $1.00 section at Michael's a couple months ago and I have been debating every since what I would be doing with them. They are definitely going to be getting a coat of paint or a new layer of some kind of paper because I'm not loving the funky newsprint...especially the "electric golf" phrase. But I haven't been able to decide whether they'd end up in a nest or hanging or flying or what.
But then I found this cute bird somewhere online. I'm so sorry that I didn't bookmark it....if you know whose design it is please let me know. Anyway, I love the legs on this guy! It doesn't show any feet but I think I'm going to use a single round base with two holes drilled in it for the legs. That should give it some stability. The hat makes me smile....so my birds will be sporting some type of head gear.
This project is on my weekend to do this! It should be fun!!

Hmmmmm...I have one of those $1 birdies, too. I like your idea and the long-legged guy is adorable! Can't wait to see yours!

Hi Marie! That birdie is a cutie! I can't wait to see how yours turn out. I'll have to check my Michael's the next time I'm there.
Oh darn, I am sure I have seen the same bird somewhere in blogland as well, but I can't remember where either! Sorry. I am looking forward to see how yours will turn out.
What a fun project! Micheal's has the best paper mache animals right now!
