Random Monday Memories

I don't watch a lot of television these days. I don't have the time or inclination ~ plus there aren't a lot of shows that interest me. That wasn't the case back in the late sixties and early seventies though. I was thinking about TV shows that I used to watch last night and the very first one I thought of was "The Mod Squad".

"The Mod Squad" , which ran on ABC from 1968-73, told the story of Pete Cochran (played by Michael Cole), Linc Hayes (Clarence Williams III), and Julie Barnes (Peggy Lipton): three young, undercover cops who worked under the guidance of Capt. Adam Greer (Tige Andrews). I loved this show ~ they were so "cool". I was not "cool" at all ~ I wished that I could have been just like Julie and I had a big crush on Pete too.

I also loved to watch "Laugh-In" ~ a totally different kind of show but still with that psychedelic, flower power thing going on. "Laugh-In" was on from 1968-73 too. I loved Goldie Hawn and Arte Johnson. The Fickle Finger of Fate Award was always "Verrrry Interesting".

I was in junior and senior high school while these programs were on the air ~ as I mentioned, I was not one of the "cool" kids. These are a couple of the TV shows that I escaped to for my own little dose of (in my estimation) "cool".

I was never into the Mod Squad but our whole family watched Laugh-In. I don't know what was funnier-the show or my father doubled over from laughter! Want a Walnetto?
