When Katie and Mandy were about six and eight years old they received a big trunk full of dress up clothes, shoes, bags, gloves, boas & jewelry for Christmas. They LOVED this gift. I think it may have been one of their very favorite gifts. Sapphire blue and hot pink sparkly gowns and fluffy boas; shiny beads and bangles; sequined clutches....every little girl's dream come true! These were adult clothes that I altered a bit so the girls could wear them safely. Both Katie and Mandy remember the fun they had with these clothes. I can't find pictures of them with all those dress up goodies ~ I can't believe that I didn't take any! I wasn't the best picture taking mama and even if I did take them ~ well, I wasn't the best about developing them!
Such is not the case with my grandbabies....especially with a digital camera in my hands!
I came across this hat when I was sorting through my storage room this weekend. I found it at a thrift store a few years ago. I'm so glad I discovered it again because it's perfect for a little photo shoot with Charlotte ~ our first venture into playing dress up!! Pretty soon we'll share this fun with Penelope too....but I'm thinking I'll have to come up with something else to do with Elijah!

What a wonderful series of pictures of Charlotte and "THE HAT"! I love the one of her looking at herself in the mirror! I loved dress-up too. Once when I was about 6 (my mother would tell the story) I went around to the neighbors asking for contributions to my dress-up suitcase. My mom was mortified... but I did get a pair of silver high heels which I l-o-v-e-d! I am often amazed that your Random Monday Memories bring out mine. Have a great week sweet friend! xoxo
