Swap For All Seasons

Here I am...late as usual with sharing what I sent and received for the May swap.  Our theme was weddings and our color cream or white.   This was one of my favorite months...both to give and receive.  I mailed to Lorraine.  She makes some beautiful paper art....and shares some free printables on her blog.  Here's a link to a peek at both.  Lorraine said that she liked the creamy treasures I sent to her.

This is the tag and the card I sent to her.  I love this image of a bride that I used on the tag...I think she looks so content and happy!

Wouldn't it be lovely if all marriages were of the "happily ever after" sort!

Putting together a bit of destash was very easy this month....I have lots and lots of cream and white goodies to share.

Joyce from Scrap for Joy mailed to me this month.  I was so excited when I saw she would be sharing her creations with me.  Joyce has been my friend for almost six years...she is one of the very best perks from starting this blog of mine!

Just look at the wonderful things she sent!  She loves to create with her Julie Nutting Paper Doll stamps.  Look how pretty the tag is!  Love the bit of bling she's wearing in her hair!

The card she created is amazing...layers and layers of paper lace, a sweet image, a silky flower, and more bling!  I have a couple weddings coming up...but I'm just not sure I can part with this card!

Look at the ribbon and ribbon cards she sent.  I have some bits of vintage lace that I'll wind onto the extra ribbon cards Joyce sent.  I LOVE the paper lace she sent...and you can never have too many creamy buttons!

This silk flower is over 4 inches in diameter...I'm thinking of pinning it to the doily lampshade I made over a year ago.  There's a perfect spot just waiting for it on the  shade.  Thanks so much for all the pretties you sent to me Joyce! You spoiled me for sure!!

June's swap theme is "A Guy Thing"...with some black or gray destash.  It might be a little more challenging, but I think it's going to be fun to see what everyone comes up with!

Linda, thanks so much for coming up with such awesome themes each month!  You are the best swap hostess ever!

Have a Heart...

...or several hearts!
I have met some very sweet women through this blog. Two of them remembered me with Valentines this year.  Their gifts of hearts have found special spots on my kitchen bulletin board...perfect reminders of friends far away!

The paper hearts garland arrived from Pennsylvania.  Joyce of Scrap For Joy is a paper craft whiz...she shares all kinds of fun paper creations on her blog!  She makes beautiful cards and garlands, among other things.  I love this one and I think it looks perfect hanging with all my sweet grandbabies!  I also have one of her garlands hanging in my laundry room. Love it too!

Sweet Shelley from Texas crocheted a red heart for me.  Shelley's blog is called Simply Shelley.  It's a lovely place to visit...filled with hope and encouragement...and dolls!!
Shelley loves dolls and I love visiting her, and reading about those dolls, her sweet family, and most of all, her love for the Lord.

Who knew that my simple attempt at keeping on online journal would reward me with such dear friends!!  Their sweet gifts to me will be hanging around for a long time!

Scrap For Joy

One night last week Charlotte was explaining the definition of the word 'jealous' to us.  Her example was a good one.  She  said "Ms. May is jealous of me because I get to go to Disney World and she doesn't".
I was looking on Facebook last night and come up with my own example.  I'm jealous because about a month ago, Joe and Jo got to meet Joyce from Scrap for Joy!!   Joyce and I have been reading each other's blog since 2008...someday we're going to meet.
In the meantime though this photo makes me happy!

Photo 'borrowed' from Joyce's Facebook.

Birthday Blessings 1

I had a birthday a few weeks ago....and I received so many special treasures!
Thought I'd share some photos of them this week.

A box filled with pretty packages arrived from my blog friend Joyce from Scrap For Joy
She and I have been friends since I started my blog back in 2008.  SOMEDAY we're going to meet in person too!

I love all the extra little touches she adds to her packages!

Isn't this card great!  The day after I received this gift, Katie pointed out a sign in a shop that had
the exact same quote on it.  Very cute napkins too!

Joyce makes the cutest things...this is already hanging
in my new craft space.

Honestly...this candle makes my room smell like there's a Lilac bush, full of blooms,
growing in the corner.....just wonderful!

Here we have that "little cup of fun".....actually two cups.....love the pink fringe spilling out of it!

I also love all the tiny images and cut-outs tucked inside.

My favorite cut-out is this red bird.  I can't wait to use it....I know just where it's going to go!!

Joyce....I am blessed to call you friend.  You've met me in person, and we've only talked with each other once.  But you know what I like so very well!  Thank you for your friendship and for all these special gifts. Most of all, thank you for the prayers you say on my behalf...it means the world to me!!

Scrap For Joy

I received a box of treasures from Joyce at Scrap for Joy a few weeks ago.  It was her special way of saying "get well" to me.  The wrapped packages were enough to brighten my day!  Then when I looked inside....oh my goodness!!  Treasures galore!  All kinds of scrap booking goodies and a wonderful original sketch by Michelle Palmer.  Isn't it the sweetest little bunny you ever saw?!

Joyce also included this AMAZING Somerset Studio publication....GreenCraft.  It's full of really wonderful ideas for repurposed, upcycled, trash to treasures kind of projects.  I took photos of some of my favorites.

Brown Paper Bag Ruffles ~ I LOVE these!!

A "paper" chain made out of old quilt pieces.  How pretty is this!

A very clever gift box made out of a ribbon spool....oh, how many of these I've thrown away!

Measuring tape bracelets.....so pretty and so clever too!

Joyce also made the cutest little card for me.  Fully "RE-COVERED"!  Get it!!
Joyce makes some of the most awesome cards and she's an awesome friend too ~ thanks so much for all the wonderful things that blessed my heart in a very special way!

Joyce has been having some of her own medical issues lately...she hasn't posted on her blog for a few weeks.  I'm hoping and praying that's she'll be "re-covered" soon too!
Get well my friend!!
