A Bright, Little Squirrel

Mandy is not the only one who got a gift this past weekend.  I received a very sweet gift from my oldest daughter Katie.  She gave me this very cute squirrel night light!  I'm not sure where she got it...but if you search for "Woodland Squirrel Night Light", you'll find that it's available at several places online.  It comes with little disc batteries.  In fact, this one came with four of them!

Here it is in a corner of my new craft space.  Looking right at home!  Thank you Katie ~ I love it!

Happy Tuesday!!

So Grateful.

What a blessing to be able to spend every other Sunday with these sweet little children.
Happy and Safe...in Gramma's backyard.

I wish I could keep them here always.
Safe and Sound.

There's nothing like a grandchild to put a smile on your face,
a lump in your throat, and a warm feeling in your heart.

Gifts from Friends

My friends, Tisha & Patricia, are very talented.  Both of them paint.  Tisha does watercolors...here's some of her work.  Patricia does china painting...you can see some of her work here and here.

They also create with wool roving and yarn.  A little bit of Knitting and some Felting too.
Here are a couple gifts I received from them.

Tisha knitted and then felted these sweet little bowls...in red, because she knows it's my favorite color!

She also knit this adorable owl beanbag...love the little tufts on his head!

And she made a pretty hotpad for me...but I'm using it at work for a coaster.

This is a HON, and she was "felted" by Patricia.
In part, her little tag says: "Needle felting is a time-consuming sculptural technique whereby the artist pokes dry wool roving with a special barbed needle until the desired effect is achieved. This little "HON" took many, many hours to create."

Don't you love her little glasses!

How about her "beady" legs and hand-sculpted high heels?

A "Hon" wouldn't be complete without her "beehive" hairdo.

I am so lucky to have such talented friends...and blessed to receive some of their creations for my very own!!

Snapshot

Bonnie and Sandy...two women who I love very much!  Sandy (on the right) is my pastor's wife and our church secretary and Bonnie works in Counseling & Ministry Development.  Bonnie and her husband are moving to South Carolina.  She has been a friend and spiritual mentor to me for over twenty years....and I am going to miss her so much!   But Bonnie and I both know that even if we never meet face to face again, we can look forward to spending eternity with the Lord and each other.  What a precious gift she's been to me!

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galations 2:20
 (Bonnie's favorite verse)

He's Beautiful

I was babysitting for Charlotte Tuesday evening while her Momma & Daddy went out for a bit. At 9:00 PM it was off to bed for a very tired little girl....she was recovering from strep throat and that just wore her right out. We read her little books, practiced her scripture verses (there are a few very short ones in one of her books that she's memorized) and then we said our prayers. After that, she fell asleep literally within about 2 minutes, but just before she did I said "Goodnight, I love you Charlotte" and she said "I love you too Gramma, goodnight"...her sweet voice fading away as she drifted off to dreamland.
I sat there afterwards just watching her and listening to her breathe and suddenly I was overwhelmed by love for her.  So much so that my heart hurt near to bursting!  I thought about Elijah, Penelope and Caleb and it hurt even more.  They are such sweet blessings from God.
As I sat there it occurred to me again that I have so many blessings in my life.  If I had to describe my life right now I'd say "It's A Wonderful Life"! It's not a perfect life...but I choose to focus on the good and I try awful hard to leave the hard stuff in His hands.

In His beautiful hands.

I love this song ~ hope you did too!

Have a joy-filled weekend!!

"The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24-26
