Spoons

So, what to do about this blog while I'm in Europe. (oh my...did I really just say that...can't believe I'm really here!!)  I decided to walk around my house (before we left) and just take some photos of cute stuff.  So how about we start with some really cute spoons!  Wooden spoons with pink dots!

Bet you can't guess who'll be using these!

I don't think I'll have the opportunity to post photos from the trip until I get home.  But I will be trying to share some on Instagram and Facebook.  Take a peek if you're interested.

October Swap

I haven't done a swap in quite a while. But when I found out that Linda was
going to be hosting A Swap for All Seasons again, I knew it was time to swap again!!
Beginning last month, Linda will be hosting a swap each month for a year.
The same kind of swap...with a different theme every month.
She explains it all right here.
I recently mailed off my swap goodies for October.
One handmade card, one handmade tag, and a bit of destash (to remove an item from
your craft supplies and share it with someone else).
Our theme was Friendship and our destash item needed to be pink.
Here's a look at what I sent to Becky.

I like simple...I hope Becky does too!  I used one of my very favorite friendship quotes,
some pretty paper, a sweet image, and a tiny bouquet.

Here's the tag I sent to her....again pretty simple.

The destash bag was full of some vintage
pink trim and pretty pink flowers.

Linda has set this swap up so that we send to one gal and receive from another.
It's fun this way....we get to meet two new women each month!
What treat to received my October swap treasures from Jan!
Here's a look at the beautiful things she sent to me.

Love this large tag...it's about 4 inches wide!  I sure hope
I "measure up" in the friendship dept!!

Isn't this a pretty card?  The layers and textures are wonderful. I won't be using
it as a card though...it's already hanging up on my Inspiration Board!

Here's the fun destash Jan sent to me. The little ballerina is my favorite piece!

I'm already signed up for the November Swap....with two new swap partners.
Our theme is Birthdays and we need to share some brown destash.
I think brown might be a little challenging for me!

Linda is a great swap hostess....she's been hosting A Swap for All Seasons since 2008.  I think I've participating in all but two of them....and I enjoyed every one I was in.
Linda will be taking sign ups for the December swap on November 1st.

It needed a Little Color.

Charlotte started kindergarten this year.  Her momma or daddy drive her to school each morning.  They also drive her neighbor, Dominic.  Dominic also started kindergarten this year.  His mother will be driving them home a couple a days a week.  Grandpa (Bill) will be driving them on the days she can't.

So Grandpa needed a car seat for his car, and Katie bought this one for him to use.  It was available in pink and gray, and black and gray.  Katie opted for the black and gray...thinking it was a bit more gender neutral.

Charlotte was not a fan....not at all!  She told us that it was a boy's car seat and she really didn't want to ride in it.  We removed the infant inserts - the black head rest and seat insert - hoping less black would help.  But Charlotte wasn't convinced.  So....I suggested that she and I go browse around in the craft room and find some things to make it a little more appealing.

She found a lot of things that she wanted to add...including some pink pom-pom trim, pink & white daisies, rick-rack, and all kinds of stickers.

Charlotte laid out her design....and then (after she went home) Gramma edited it a little bit.  Here's what we ended up with:

Subtle....but the all important "girly" pink has been added!

I sewed on the rick-rack and flowers along the top...and Charlotte added the pink sticker.

The bling placement is all Charlotte...pretty perfect I think!

A pink bunny...it's twin is on the other side.
Grandpa will be picking her up today...hopefully the "pinkified" car seat is a hit!!

Still Pretty in Pink

First of all....let me confess that I borrowed all these photos from my daughter-in-law's Facebook page.  The first one and last one are new photos...Jacqi just took them and I love them!  She actually took all of them (most on her phone), but the two I mentioned are extra-special photo shoot photos!

Can you tell that this sweet girl LOVES PINK!!  It's her very favorite color.  She talks about pink all the time.  Back in March we went on a "pink shopping trip!"  No matter what color she wears, no matter what color her Christmas tree is, she is one of the sweetest little girls I know. She's my very favorite blonde too!!

Pretty in Pink

Back in January I mentioned that Penelope and I would be going on a special shopping trip...but I never shared what she got.  As a special reward from Gramma and Grandpa, I took her shopping for a gift.  When I asked her what she would be shopping for she replied, "Pink".

Miss Penelope loves "pink"!  She was so funny as we walked around Target.  She'd spot pink in the distance and point it out like the treasure it was!  "There Gramma, pink!"  Over and over again!
We struck gold pink in the Dollar section because it was just before Valentine's Day.  There's a whole lot of pink then.   Pink lips (that's what we call lip balm), a pink pillow, a purply pink necklace and a very cute pink owl bag.  We also found a pink cup in the housewares department.

But my favorite pink purchase was this book called "My Pretty Pink Alphabet Purse".  It's full of PINK!

It was a lovely shopping trip.....don't you think?  Oh that rhymes with pink!!

Here we have Princess Penelope all dressed in pink...it wasn't too hard to pick out a Disney gift for this little gal!
