A Swap For All Seasons

Life, the past month or so, has not been blog writing and reading friendly.  I have a little time here and there, but I haven't really been able to get back into a regular schedule.  Hope that changes because I miss visiting my blogging friends!

For the eleventh month in a row, I'm participating in A Swap For All Seasons...hosted by the wonderfully creative Linda!  She comes up with great ideas every month!  The theme for the August 1st mailing date was "Just My Style"...and I loved it!  Here's a look at the card and tag I created for Elizabeth...and the "destash" I sent to her. 

As I mentioned, the theme was "Just My Style'.  I'm not sure I have a specific style.  I like colorful, retro, patriotic, lace and roses, vintage....pretty much you name it!  For "my style this month" I chose a neutral bird theme....and I'm really happy with how it all turned out.

The tag is one of my favorite ones that I've ever made. I love thatit has a lot going on...including one of the wire nests that I love to make!  Keeping with the neutral theme...I packaged the destash in a tiny, brown, paper bag.

Pam sent me this sweet card and tag.  She told me she chose a little boy and girl in honor of my grnadchildren (who appear frequently on my blog!). I though that was so thoughtful of her!!

Pam sent me quite the assortment of destash too!  I especially love the lily of the valleys postcard...the wooden spools...the yoyos...the milk cap...pretty much all of it!!

I just had to take a photo of the envelope she mailed my goodies in.  Aren't these stamps wonderful!  I'll be saving these for sure!

The theme for the final month in this series of swaps is Halloween...with a bit of orange destash...definitely another fun theme!!  I'd expect no less from Linda!

The Eyes Have It!

I've been having some problems with my eyes since having my cataract surgery. Yesterday, I visited the doctor and she prescribed drops. Looks like I have some inflammation in both eyes. There's also some dryness. Hopefully "the drops will calm things down"  She also said that the new lens on my left eye "has a bit of clouding", so I need to go back to my surgeon and have her evaluate that...it might require what's called  a YAG Laser procedure. Seems like it's always something these days! 

At least my drops come in pretty colored bottles!!  : )

So glad it's Friday....

It's been a crazy week.  I've totally lost  my marbles!

Too much to do...not enough time to do it!!

I need a vacation!*

I'm going to put them in one of these!

Life is Good!

Life is feeling pretty full (of blessings) these days. In fact, my cup is over flowing ~

but my plate is really full too!

I have a couple swaps to get ready for mailing and my home needs a bit (a lot) of attention. Then there's that pesky 9 to 5 thing called a job that needs to be squeezed in Monday through Friday. I was away for the weekend* and I'm feeling some pressure (self-imposed of course!) to really get caught up on everything. Actually, the pressure has been on for about two years ~ roughly the same amount of time that I've been enjoying living in the Land of Blog. Hmmm...I wonder if one has something to do with the other??

I think I need to cut back on the amount of time I spend here for a little while....I'm not sure what exactly that means. Maybe shorter or less frequent posts. Maybe more pictures and less words. Maybe less visits and /or comments on other blogs. I'm just not sure. I just know I need to do things a little differently for a little while.

* I went to Leesburg, VA this weekend ~ it's such a pretty area (especially in the Spring!) and there are so many neat little shops and also some fun outlet stores! I promise to fill you in on them all ~ photos included!!

One last thing ~ I've come to discover that when a need is expressed here in the Land of Blog the response is amazing. I have some physical issues that are impacting my ability to "get caught up on everything". Your prayers would be so appreciated! I thank you all in advance for them too!

It's a Great Day!

Let's see.....the snow started last Friday, stopped and started again on Wednesday. I'm not even sure how many inches we got - somewhere between 30 & 40 inches!! Bill was snowed in at work or working extra shifts for much of the past week....Mandy has been at Katie's since Tuesday. That leaves me and my 92 year old father-in-law....guess who shoveled! My arms feel like rubber, my neck aches and the affects of the cortisone injection in my knee are pretty much gone. Mandy's 4 wheel drive Jeep broke down on Monday and again yesterday. It didn't get stuck...it was a battery/computer problem. Thankfully, we'll get it back tonight! Bill's dad's car won't start....maybe it's the battery...we're not sure and can't get it moved right now to check. It's stuck between two snow mountains about 4 feet tall. BUT all is good! The internet and cable TV that has out since Friday, Feb. 5th is back! Woo Hoo!!!

My cable company had an all day appointment available today - sometime betweeen 8am and 7pm. I already had an appointment scheduled for Monday morning between 8am & 1pm....but I took today off from work because the thought of another weekend of Bill's dad missing his TV shows was more than I could bear. The "cable guy" arrived at 3:55pm and was gone by 4:15pm ~ that's how quickly he got it repaired!! Dad has been sitting in front of the TV for the past hour just flipping stations...he said there's so much to choose from! He can't decide what to watch! But come 7pm his favorites, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, will be on the screen!

Anway, it's good to have access to the internet again and I just wanted to say hi. I took lots of photos this week and I'll be posting them soon. Plus I can't wait to see what's been going on in the land of Blog....I'll be visiting soon!
