Painted, Packaged & Priced

Craft Show time will be here before I know it...so I've been trying to get a little bit done each week.  But with the craziness that it is life these days, I haven't spent a lot of time in my craft room.  I did  manage to finish this very simple project. Sadly, it took almost three weeks to do it!  But I'm happy with the results!

I've picked up lots of little bowls at thrift stores...painting them all fun colors seemed like a good idea, as I shared in this post.  Getting the final coats of paint on all these bowls seemed to take forever.  But they are finally done!

They make fun little sets...don't you think!!?
I'm on a roll.....I hope!

P.S. Since I had the paint out, I spruced up an old bread board too!

Quick Craft

I like to scour the thrift stores for crafty supplies. Some of the newest items I'm searching for are eyeglasses...or more specifically eyeglass lenses.  Why?  Well, on a recent shopping trip I found something really cute made from them.

Pins!!  I bought four of them!  Aren't they cute?!
I think these will be such fun to make...especially for my little grand girls!
I even found a couple links about making them.  Here & Here.

The top two pins are made with paper and the bottom two with fabric.
The possibilities are endless!  These are going to be such fun.

And speaking of fun....how about a little giveaway fun!
This is my 1500th post!
I have managed to stick with this old blog of mine for over four years!  To celebrate that amazing (to me at least) accomplishment I'd love to host a giveaway.
My very next post will tell you all about it!  Stay tuned!!

Quick Craft

This is a REALLY quick craft!

A plastic ornament (or glass if you dare!) plus about 4 inches of silvery garland.
Take the top off the ornament, add the silvery stuff and voila!
A sparkly ornament for your tree.

Great kids craft!!
I bet my grandbabies would love to make these for their parents!

And speaking of grandbabies....look who's 6 months old!
It's little Miss Lu!!

Quick Crafts

I described myself as a 'maker of stuff' over on our Arts & Crafts Show blog.
I think it's good description of me when it comes to my creative side.
I like to make stuff...I like to make stuff quickly...and I like to make stuff from other stuff!

It's so satisfying to take items that might otherwise have no real use,
and turn them into pieces that I really love.
Here's a few samples of what I'm talking about.

Tart tins and old wooden candlesticks quickly become two
fun little 'bowls'.  A little cream colored paint and a bit of sanding
transforms the candlesticks, and some glue holds the two
pieces together.  So quick, so easy, and functional too!

These are for the show....hopefully.  I really love them, and
I'm oh so tempted to keep them!

Here we have one old baby bootie.  I soaked it in a bit
of tea, and added a glittery star and an angel image.
Then I fashioned some sparkly canes and tucked them
inside the bootie. Now it's a sweet tree ornament!

A scrap of an old Army blanket, some fluff to stuff it, a few quick
stitches, and an empty wooden spool equals a prim little tree.
I added a fabric scrap bow and a shiny button star.
Another quick and easy tree ornament!

It makes me happy to make things that are quick, easy, and fun.
Giving new life to old stuff just makes it that much better!
