Berry Red!

While we were in England, we visited Warwick Castle...and guess what!
It didn't rain!!
It was dreary and cold though...but still fun!!
But, I'm not sharing photos of any of the fun today...I'm sharing berries!!  When we were walking in the gardens I spotted these berry bushes. Red is my favorite color and on a dreary day these red berries just popped!  I had to get some photos of them.
I think they're festive....maybe I'll use the photos to make something for Christmas.
Any ideas!!

A Swap For All Seasons

Last Tuesday I shared the December and January goodies I received from A Swap For All Seasons. It's my very favorite swap group!  This month, Linda is sharing sweet Springtime images on the swap blog.  With all this crazy, cold , snowy weather going on I just bet everyone could use a little touch of Spring. If you decide to go visit the swap blog make sure you read all about how the swaps work.  On March 1st you can visit and sign up for the April swap!!

Now here's a peek at the February swap.

The theme was Valentines, and we shared Red Destash items.
I love red!!

Have a look at the goodies I received from Pam.

I think it's so fun that Pam packaged my Valentines in a paper sack. Do you remember taking a empty paper sack to school, and then receiving it back filled to the top with Valentines cards?!
This was just like that!!

 "No Kitten"!!
I love this cute little tag!!

"Bingo! You're a winner Valentine!"
Isn't this image adorable!!

Love all my new red destash and I can't wait to use it!!  I already added a little pin to the back of the crocheted flower...it looks perfect on my gray sweatshirt.

And now a look at what I sent to Francie.
She mentioned on her blog that she likes everything...that's always a happy thing to hear!

"Hugs & Kisses" to you! This is one of my very favorite images with a heart!!

I lean towards simple in paper art...a tag covered with pretty paper, a bit of sheet music and lace, a wool felt heart and a mother of pearl button. All tied up with a bit of hemp!

Destash!!

February was a fun month to create for...now it's time to get busy with the current March swap. It's all about Spring...and a little bit of yellow!

Red Hair-Cuts

I haven't seen Elijah and Caleb in about a month.....too long!!  They came to visit me last Saturday.  Both were sportin' longer than usual hairdos.  Elijah was not interested in looking at the camera at all...but that's okay 'cause I love this sweet look on his face.

Here he is in a picture his dad took on Sunday...right after his haircut.  He's not real interested in looking at the camera here either...but at least he's looking up!  Love his haircut...he looks like such a big boy now.

Here we have Caleb looking pretty scraggly and looking straight at the camera!  He is the smiliest baby I know.  His hair is exactly the same color as Elijah's but Caleb has a lot more wave going on...especially if he gets a little sweaty.  He's looking pretty ready for his 1st haircut....and he looks happy about it too!

I'm not sure if he's still happy after the fact or not.  I think he looks a little puzzled....like "what just happened?"  Puzzled or not, he sure looks cute!
We sure love our sweet redheads!

Redheads make up 2-6% of the population of the United States, giving the US the largest population of redheads in the world.

I sure am glad these two redheads (and their mommy makes three) are a part of our family!!

Rednesday

I'm joining in with Rednesday this week.  It's all about sharing something red.  I'm sharing this very cute little red coat. It's corduroy and toasty warm.  If you peek real close you'll see it's lined in bright pink.  It's such an adorable coat and of course the little model wearing it is pretty adorable too!

Charlotte
You know I can't show one of my grandbabies without showing them all...and they each have a little bit of Rednesday going on too!

What a face! Love those red cheeks.  It doesn't look like she's very happy ~ I think it's because the ice cream is almost gone! She's such a little doll!

Penelope
Then we have little Master Red himself!  He's busy opening some birthday gifts but took a moment to look at Gramma and her (ever present) camera!  Sweet boy!

Elijah

If you like RED please stop by and visit Sue at It's A Very Cherry World.
There's a whole lot of RED going on!

REDnesday

I love tote bags and I have more than my fair share of them.  I really shouldn't buy anymore of them. I mean at some point I'm going to run out of things to tote.   But sometimes you (meaning me) just can't resist!
Take a look at this bow!  Red polka dots and tulle ~ with a button too!  Plus it's plaid and gray ~ I love gray plaid!  There's black and white stripes and red handles and trim too!  I love red!

A letter M ~ how perfect is that!  My name starts with an M!
M for Marie!

Oh, wait!  Maybe it's M for Minnie.  But that's okay.  It still has plaid and stripes and a whole lot of red!  I love red!

I love Minnie too!

But I really like RED!!

Today is Rednesday

Red is my favorite color. Today I thought that I would join in with some other bloggers who also love the color red.  The hostess of Rednesday is http://suelovescherries.blogspot.com/.   Visit her blog and you'll find links to lots of other bloggers showcasing some of their favorite red things.

I was finally able to get my act together and get my Christmas decorations taken down last weekend.  I also put together a few subtle Valentine type things on my kitchen windowsill.....and they just so happen to be red!  It's such a cheerful color to look at...especially in contrast to the greys and browns in my backyard.

UPDATE: The straws were purchased last fall at Crate & Barrel. I've also seen them available on Etsy.

A little red goes a long way in brightening up my day!
